General status of the rp; Feel free for a bit of co-mingling with the npc's or each other. There's no reason to act stressed or burdened, the journey seems to be clear skies ahead and I'm yet to throw a very large wrench in the works.
I'll be adding music on occasion, mostly classical, early 20th century avante garde, jazz, fitting rock instrumental, movie scores, etc. This will be to fit the mood of any particular place. Any problems?

Out of MindLooking forward to it.
"You are my future selves? Am I having a Mid-Life Crisis?" The War Doctor - Day of The DoctorWell, it's already kind of there.
Out of MindHello? Anyone else around?
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.Great job so far, Bokhura Burnes.
Out of MindI'm here. Working on a post now.
I will be posting something today.
I am also mildly irritated with myself. I realised today who would be perfect for this adventure, much more so than Edmund Dantes.
Doctor John Watson.
If you alter things so that Holmes did die at the Falls, then 1896 is only a few years after that, and Watson is single again.
Oh well, never mind...

"You are my future selves? Am I having a Mid-Life Crisis?" The War Doctor - Day of The DoctorThe conversation between Stalin and the reporter is going swimmingly. I'ld only ask we slow it down and have a chance to introduce the other characters before the tension is broken by the arrival of Kurtz which will happen when a few more people come in. And just roll with what the reporter says, it's supposed to be weird and self contradictory.

Out of MindTo whom is the barman talking?
"You are my future selves? Am I having a Mid-Life Crisis?" The War Doctor - Day of The DoctorYou just walked up and ordered a drink, so you I suppose.
Out of MindAh sorry. I asked cos I think the others ordered a drink too.

"You are my future selves? Am I having a Mid-Life Crisis?" The War Doctor - Day of The DoctorNo, mr. jugashvili is far too busy for the barkeep to ask him questions and from what I hear of Carmilla she doesn't drink... wine.

Out of MindThe past is a country Edmund spends far too much time in...
Oh, and he's in disguise right now..

"You are my future selves? Am I having a Mid-Life Crisis?" The War Doctor - Day of The DoctorLiving in the past is the point of this RP, I can't picture any of my favorite literary protagonists from this time period liking Modernization very much, and it is for similar reasons there is a fully stocked bar on the HMS Halycon. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
Also, enjoying the growing tension and parallel conversations, after enough of these encounters build up I have the perfect way to make them explode.

Out of MindActually Edmund might actually like all the modernisation. He's spent most of his life either being punished for something he didn't do by the actions - and inactions - of small group of people, or planning and executing an elaborate vengeance against said group, only to discover that vengeance is a hollow thing.
Haydee gave him hope for the future, but she died. All he had to keep him interested was this new-fangled engineering. And now the Halcyon and her mission. The future is looking interesting again.
But the dark depths of bitterness and the past is always there, ready to drag him down into the undertow.

"You are my future selves? Am I having a Mid-Life Crisis?" The War Doctor - Day of The DoctorIt may be true that some characters embrace the new technology of this period but considering the crew is mostly a bunch of middle aged white males the specter of the past is always there and waxing on nostalgia shouldn't be too uncommon.
Out of MindI don't know if this was specified somewhere else, but what does the note say?
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win. It's the letter found at the beginning of the sign-ups. It's just the basic exposition of what's going on in this world.
Out of MindOn the topic of characters who would be perfect for this adventure: I'm kicking myself for not thinking of Bill the Butcher beforehand.
Yeah, great film and when we get to to the eastern seaboard and around new york a lot of the inspiration stems from that film, among other things including Metropolis, A few random bits of theatre and others. Maybe he could make cameo as an NPC?

Out of MindNice job made of axes, inspired by the elephant man I presume.

Out of MindIt's slightly inspired by that, yes (though I haven't ever seen the film).
"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff. It's worth a watch.
"You are my future selves? Am I having a Mid-Life Crisis?" The War Doctor - Day of The DoctorIt seems we have a fairly full house with the exception of Fauxlosophe and it should only be a short while before the call to adventure and all that stuff bursts in. People can enter the story at any or sign up at any time but I would prefer all the sign-ups be present, what's your take on this?
