Megaman x Street Fighter

Free for PC on December 17.

I just mentioned this in the Unofficial Official Mega Man thread. Though having a separate thread for this game is a pretty good idea.

Anyway, SO HYPE!

Yeah, it's a fangame. Capcom just promoted it.

They didn't do anything again.

I at least like the idea of fans being able to do something for the franchise when Capcom isn't willing to.

What I love about this is that the one thing in Megaman's anniversary that otherwise wouldn't make the internet spontaneously combust is inevitably tied to Street Fighter's own celebration.

Will probably get it anyway, but still.

Nah, but it really does feel pretty stitched together. Like a last-ditch effort to defend themselves from the more vocal fans after the initial XOVER explosion.

I think at this point anything Cap Com does will look like that.

They've completely lost the trust of the fans.

I guess it does feel a bit cheapening(hey let's celebrate the anniversary of our most prominent franchise by..crossing it over with another flagship franchise that happens to be celebrating its anniversary). Not that it isn't cool, but I feel anniversaries are also need to be commemorative individual occasions. And I guess with the way Capcom has treated Megaman, it seems a bit last ditch.

Capcom is trying to regain face by slapping their name on a fucking fan-game. Shameless bunch of whores.

The game, though, looks BEAUTIFUL. I'm very much looking forward to downloading this.

Hey guys, here's an idea: what if Capcom doing this for free is actually a really awesome thing and complaining about it makes you look like a huge prick with a massive entitlement complex?

Alright, yeah. I guess they did slip a bit of funding towards the game, at least.

The only thing that comes to mind when I see this is that Capcom has officially no idea of where to go next with the Megaman franchise, other than rubbing it with another popular franchise and see what happens. With that and the cancelling of MM Universe I really believe they don't give a damn anymore.

It's only being pushed by Capcom. It started as a fangame, and Capcom just slipped the dude a fifty or whatever and asked him to slap their name on it.

That is only half-joking.

Somehow I don't know how this isn't even more pathetic.
