I haven't seen it yet, but it's got a pretty interesting premise. It's in my "I'll watch when I get some time, also it might be a little hard to find decent fansubs" list since I've stumbled upon it when I was reading a Wikipedia page about fictional air fighters, and... Yeah, Steampunk aircrafts run by lesbian love! That interesses me.
There's no Part 1, I just thought it was funny at the time.What interests me more is the war angle, as well as the Spring o.o
The Protomen enhanced my life.I got the DVD! :D
The Protomen enhanced my life.Watched a LONG time ago. If you can get past the character designs (which more than a few of my friends thought gratuitously cheesecake for some reason) and DEEN's QUALITY issues, it's pretty good. At the very least, it puts an interesting spin on the issue of "gender" where the final gender one ends up with is actually a thing of choice. The fact that a choice is involved figures in many of the interactions of the older characters — for example, we get a low-key attraction between two men later on, with one of them lamenting if it would have been different had either of them waited longer before deciding.
This of course, amidst a backdrop of warring countries and magical gyrocopters.

Watched up to episode 2 so far. The trope page for Simoun has different names for the warring nations so when I first watched it I was confused XD;
EDIT: Just finished up to episode 4... the realities of war are setting in...
