Nintendo is RUINING AMERICA'S YOUTH! (In 1991, that is.):

Anyways, I played games in the 90's and I turned out fine!

Now excuse me while I teach my pet turtle how to handle Sais...

ALL OF MY HATE

But seriously, as ridiculous as the video is ("You're going the wrong way, asshole!"), that one quote above just grinded my gears so bad.

Look at it this way: we have lawmakers who play World of Warcraft and League of Legends.

I don't even remember that news stuff in 1991. I was too busy playing NES.

I remember 1991 fairly well. Back then, it seemed like nobody outside my age group had positive things to say about video games. (There were probably a few adults who played computer games, but I didn't know any at the time.) When confronted with negative media, the only thing a fan could do was send letters to fandom-related magazines... which few people besides other fans read.

I find it difficult to believe that any politician or media figure would openly express positive interest in a video game.

So there are actually politicians who openly support video games?

I can believe though that there are politicians who play video games (our dear President is said to be an avid gamer), I don't know any politician who openly supports video games. I wonder why...

[up]Well there is this fellow here.

He appeared on an episode of Extra Credits to educate some gamers on how to make themselves better heard.

Hmm... Pretty awesome.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
