Far away, long ago, the ancient prophets foretold of the End of the World, the great battle known as Ragnarok when the evil tyrant false god Yahweh would lead his Forces of Darkness against the Forces of Light commanded by Jupiter and Odin. Nothing can stop this great battle, and everyone has seen it coming....

But perhaps, we can win the last battle for the Forces of Light. And so it was that the forces of Asgard and Olympus conpsired together for a plan to tip the scales in their favor at Ragnarok. So it was decided that Mars and Tyr, the Warrior Gods, would summon all the great warriors of the past, present, and future to a new realm, the Arena of Time.

These warriors would duel to the death, and the winners would be selected to fight at Ragnarok to end Yahweh's reign of terror and bring the Forces of Light to victory!

Do you have what it takes to be a champion at Ragnarok?

Will you be crowned The Deadliest Warrior?

Okay, this is an RP based off of the late, great Spike TV show Deadliest Warrior and I decided to add a plot pitting the heroic Pagan Gods of the Norse and the Romans against the evil Biblical god (Relax, it's just a story, I don't mean to offend any religious people, I just wanted to put a plot into this RP).

The RP has two aspects: Social Roleplaying and Competition between warriors. Despite the title, the socialization and storytelling are the main component of the RP, with the fighting being the secondary component.

The characters are from all over history, whether it be the Past, the Present, or the Future. They have been placed in a realm called the Arena of Time. The Arena of Time is a unique realm that has all sorts of terrain from forests, grasslands, deserts, and mountains to cityscapes from all over history.

Warriors can communicate with each other now, as the Gods have lifted the language barrier.

Each warrior comes in one of four categories: Ancient, Early Modern, Late Modern, Contemporary, and Future.

  • Ancient (15000 BC-1450 AD): Warriors that are pre-gunpowder, despite their title, Ancient Warriors can be from Prehistoric, Ancient, or Medieval settings. They cannot carry guns, at least not at first.
    • Examples: Caveman, Egyptian Chariot Warrior, Persian Immortal, Spartan Hoplite, Roman Legionary, Celtic Barbarian, Han Dynasty Soldier, Viking, Samurai, Ninja, Knight

  • Early Modern (1450-1850 AD): Warriors from the early gunpowder era, they are Post-Gunpowder, but pre-Industrial Revolution. They often use a mix of blades and primitive guns. Some Early Modern warriors from certain Native American or African civilizations may not have access to guns at first.
    • Examples: Conquistador, Aztec Warrior, Ming Warrior, Musketeer, Caribbean Pirate, Colonial Minuteman, Napoleonic Legionnaire

  • Late Modern (1850-1920 AD): Warriors from the era of repeating firearms and the Industrial Revolution. Late Modern Warriors are from the era after the Industrial Revolution takes off, but before World War II begins. They mostly use guns, but nothing fully automatic, and some still use blades and melee weapons extensively. Certain Native American warriors from this time, such as the Sioux braves, may still use melee weapons and bows as their primary weapons, but will have proficiency with the firearms of the era.
    • Examples: Confederate Soldier, Cowboy, Apache Warrior, Romanov Imperial Cossack, The Red Baron, Classic French Foreign Legionnaire, Classic Gurkha, British Tommy

  • Contemporary Warriors (1920-2020 AD): Warriors of the 20th and early 21st Centuries. Contemporary Warriors start with the years just after World War One and go into the Present Day and a little beyond, basically from The Roaring '20s to The New '10s. Firearms and explosives are fully dominant, with blades and melee weapons being present, but minor.
    • Examples: US Marines, Imperial Japanese Army, French Resistance, British SAS, Waffen SS, Mafia Gangster, Yakuza Hitman, IRA Terrorist, Gangbanger, Biker, Russian Spetsnaz, Israeli Commando, US Navy SEAL, Viet Cong, CIA Spy

  • Future Warriors (2020-4500 AD, Punk Punk and Sci-Fi/Fantasy): Warriors from 20 Minutes into the Future to the distant future such as Space Colonization, Crystal Spires and Togas, as well as Punk Punk and Sci-Fi/Fantasy warriors. Futuristic Technology, Advanced Weaponry, Punk Punk technology (whether it be Steampunk, Diesel Punk, Raygun Gothic, or whatever it may be), Magic, and Superpowers are the main weaponry here.
    • Examples: Space Marine, Jedi, Starship Enterprise Crew Member, Cyborg, Alien, Imperial Stormtrooper, Sailor Senshi, Android, Wizard, Paladin, Vampire, Zombie, Werewolf, Elf, Faerie, Mecha Pilot, Demon, Druid, Superhero, Supervillain, Digimon Tamer, Pokemon Trainer, Angel, Steampunk Soldier

The rules are as follows...

  • The standard rules apply, no ghosting, auto-hitting, etc.
  • Nothing above Super Weight 3, although more powerful characters and archetypes can be nerfed
  • Each warrior only starts with a maximum of four weapons or powers, although more weapons can be acquired as you win battles.
  • Warriors can only fight warriors of similar categories, but not the exact same categories, (Example: An Ancient Warrior can fight another Ancient Warrior or even an Early Modern Warrior, but fighting a Late Modern or Contemporary Warrior is unfair, and therefore, not allowed)
  • Future Warriors can only fight other Future Warriors.
  • OC's are encouraged, although I may accept Historical Domain Character figures and other fictional characters from media on a case-by-case basis.

Combat has special rules...

  • Most combat will start off with NPC warriors by me, the Game Master. I will create an NPC warrior every so often and challenge a player's warrior. I will post the NPC's stats, and our fight will include three phases: The Beginning (The introduction of our two warriors), The Middle (The fight between our warriors), and The End (The final outcome, determined by vote of the other players)
  • Each phase consists of two stories: One written from the player's point of view, the other from the GM's point of view.
  • Victory is decided by the other players not participating in the battle. Whatever story the other players enjoy more determines the winner. The first story to reach five votes determines the winner.
  • The winner gains one of his opponents weapons or powers, as determined by the GM.
