Is this on steam? The cutscenes work for me by just running Thief Gold as admin.

It's my first time trying to play Thief, and I'm stuck in the training level. The game just plops me in a tall room with two locked door, and all I can hear are footsteps. Isn't there supposed to be an instructor to open the door and guide me through the game?

Anybody here that has experience installing Thief Gold on Windows 7? I can't for the life of me get the cutscenes to play.
Apparently this is a common problem, and while some people got it working quickly, some unlucky folks (like me) had a hell of a time with it.
I've tried: -installing T Fix 1.12 (you'd think that the recently released v.1.19 miracle patch would fix this issue completely
)
-uninstalling and reinstalling K-Lite Codec Pack
-grabbing the original, really old Indeo Video codec and installing that
-manually registering lgvid.ax
And I thought this would be simple.
