Copyrighted: Huge Guy Tiny Girl

I pulled the latest page image◊ for Huge Guy, Tiny Girl a little over a month ago, trying to get permission from the artist. While he seems to be active on his devArt account, he didn't reply to the note I sent him there. If someone can find another way to contact him, we could wait for a reply some more, but to me this looks like we should get a new page image.

That image was chosen in the last IP thread for the page, but there is no indication of permission in the thread anywhere: [1]

I'm personally not really a fan of any of those, except maybe the image from Bleach. We could come up with something entirely new as well.

I've reopened the thread and moved it back; in case there was any confusion from the OP, we don't have permission to use the pic. Here's the source, for reference.

I'm not really crazy about any of the suggestions in the OP. I found a couple◊ of screencaps◊ of Sig and Izumi...the latter's actually a GIF but we can get a cap from it.

Here's some others of Colossus and Kitty. 1◊ (right side), 2◊, 3◊, 4◊, 5◊. It's tricky with them because the trope really only applies during the early years...once Kitty grew up the height difference between them wasn't as great.

What about Ralph and Vanellope◊? Hell, we could easily use Calhoun and Felix conversely for Tiny Guy, Huge Girl.

they seem like a good idea, but we should crop it to just the two of them. Here are some more pics: [1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊. I like 1 the best of all the images so far, I think, though it would need a little cropping too.

And yeah, that other pair would be perfect for Tiny Guy, Huge Girl, and I personally really like it when contrasting tropes can be illustrated from the same work. But I don't think we should open a new thread for that page again. If others agree in this thread, maybe we could change the page image again to these two?

3.1 and 3.5 are OK for me, but not great.

I like 5.1 and 5.2, and since (after a re-read of the trope) there doesn't have to be a romantic connection, that pairing's perfect.

I know that we just picked an image for Tiny Guy, Huge Girl, but are there any good images of Felix and Calhoun on their own? Because I think that would be much better.

I couldn't really find anything of two of them where the height difference is very pronounced. We could crop the poster you suggested, or 5.3. I also made an attempt at combining the two character's official pics: Calhoun◊ and Felix◊ into this: [1]◊. We could also use this pic◊ of Felix, if that would work better, since this is his pose from the poster.

If you read back a few posts, you'll see that we started talking about TINY GUY, HUGE GIRL as well. While that page does have an image, it would be cool to provide both page images from the same source, and Calhoun+Felix are a pretty good example to boot, imo.

No, please. Tiny Guy, Huge Girl just had an IP thread. Please don't hijack this thread to try to change that page.

If you really want to suggest that TGHG be changed to Felix and Calhoun, make a new thread, but you'll need a better reason than "I like this one better" or "It would be cool to have the two pages have images from the same work".

Well "Suggestion" is one of the standard acceptable reasons, isn't it?

To distinguish between "start a thread that makes a suggestion" and "start a thread that makes a suggestion with some chance of convincing anyone it's an improvement", yes you need a better reason, whether or not it's technically okay not to. Even if the "real" reason is you think it'd be cool to have a particular source, and you might even mention that motivation, gotta do better than that.

Not caring whether a suggestion is viable is... weird. The listed "acceptable reasons" are "reasons that have traction"; pretty sure there is no Thread Police that'll crash through my window if I start an IP thread for a stupid reason. But there's a high probability someone will say "this is stupid" and the thread will be locked if I don't make a case that's on the list.

I like the first image that shows Ralph fully.

I like the old russian postcard. I like images that show that some tropes are Older than You Think. And it being from something non-western is a plus. Plus it's also a very clear example.

Personally, my preference is also for the postcard, for much the same reasons as Ghilz.

The postcard is okay, but I'm not crazy about it...if it doesn't get chosen for the page, it's definite Image Links material. Crowner?

I think a mod has to delete the old crowner, since one already exists for an image pickin for this.

Or you could add a number to the end of it.
