Did a search, couldn't find a thread for it. trying to find a community of at least 10+ people for this game is kinda hard :x anyone here have this game? its really quite fun.

(+10 people so that we could actually have 5v5 team battles, which are so much fun ^_^!!)

Just got this game (backhandedly).

Man it's hard. From rags to riches, standard Armored Core fare. Then there's the whole 'scrap parts' and secret bosses routine, which is too hard for preliminary parts to sustain.

What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...

I have this game, and I played it a lot when it was new, but it depends such a lot on finding an active group and the online population has dropped such a lot that it's barely worth playing. If more people were playing, or at least if I knew I could count on finding one or two people every time, I'd probably still play it.

I'd still play if I had a gold membership, but even then, the population would be pretty dead by now.

Perhaps if there's enough people here interested, we could create a group.

One big thing I don't like about this game: forced online benefits.

I'm a strictly offline player, so that means using weapons is a lot harder for me compared to others. It took me a lot of trouble trying to imitate the methods used to reach Cancer in Story Mission 01, since my weapons can't level up to begin with.

Now I'm having trouble with getting the Zodiacs in 04 and 06

Weapons don't level up offline? That's retarded.

I looked up the game and liked the designs of the mechs and gameplay. Is there particular one that you all like and are the PSP ones available on Vita?

So this is a thing (from the Facebook page):

ARMORED CORE: VERDICT DAY

Renowned Japanese game developer From Software returns to its hardcore mech action franchise with ARMORED CORE: VERDICT DAY. Command a squadron of advanced Armored Core mechs in a dystopian future ravaged by war and stripped of natural resources. Players will form squads of up to 20 members and enlist into one of the various in-game factions to wrestle control of territories away from other players in the game’s persistent multiplayer mode. New gameplay features will be implemented into ARMORED CORE: VERDICT DAY to ensure that players who choose to play alone will be able to recruit a squad of A.I. controlled mechs and enjoy the robust feature sets of co-op and multiplayer modes, while new matchmaking system ensures that players will always find battles at a moment’s notice.

Sounds good to me. I'm not clear if it's a new game or simply DLC, but if it makes it easier to get together with other players, I'm listening.

If it has a single player campaign that is not just window dressing for the multiplayer, I'm in.

[up]I find ACV's story missions to be fitting of that bill. Of course, going Back-to-Back Badasses online helps, but they're designed to be beaten solo, all the more without Performance-improving weapons. Now we just need MORE of those.

That said, From really needs to put solo-fun back into the game. Took away split-screen from the franchise. I want it back.

Same as usual.... Wing it.

I'm not sure how many of the story missions I did solo. I must have done most of them solo while looking for the hidden parts and so on.

That's a thing, the hidden parts. I was disappointed that they weren't unique parts that couldn't be acquired any other way, they were just normal parts that were available to buy anyway.

Anyway, multiplayer. A worthwhile single-player campaign is good, but I enjoy co-op for its own sake, not just as a way of having someone to help you. If there's someone to play with, I'm going to want to play with them.

[up]During the old days, I find the concept of unbuyable parts unfair (there's no way to know where to look for them if not for walkthroughs). On top of that, I find the 'no-need-to-kneel-down' cheating CPU opponents to be the boulder attached to the feet when drowning.

And to be fair, those parts (found in ACV story missions) don't improve themselves. They should've been, although it is justified given they're named Scrap Parts.

And yes, Multiplayer for the sake of it is just what From Software pulled off with ACV. You can go against each other, or help each other in something great. That is what I call freedom of choice. I still want my split screen back.

So. Seems like it's time for some thread necromancy.

Finally got around to finishing this bastard after two years of it gathering dust on my shelf. I'm really not used to an AC game where you can't fly around readily and the developers forgot the lights on 70% of the stages. Also, final boss can go directly to hell. But I did it. Eventually just put together the most heavily armoured AC that I could and stuck two massive chainguns on both arms and blocked incoming fire with my face.

So, with Verdict Day still on the horizon for me, I was wondering if any of the dozen or so people who are into this game are willing to discuss the finer points of AC builds and weapon combinations. I'm fairly experienced with the series, but V is rather different to the ones I've played before and many of the AC types (read, anything that isn't a Medium/Heavy Biped or Tank) are difficult for me to use effectively (I can't use Sniper Cannons for shit against enemy A Cs rendering one of my favourite build types near unusable for me.)

Oh, and does anyone know the locations for the Scrap Collection sidequests? I've found about a third of them, but the rest I can't locate for the life of me.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...

What I am more interested in is why we have one article lumping together the entire franchise/series' multiple installments (which comprises at least four separate timelines). The trope list's confusing mess could be made more manageable if we make this article strictly for the tropes shared by the whole series, and transplant the individual game lines and their tropes into separate articles (which, obviously, would be linked to in an index on the franchise's article).

yeah, I'd like the armored core series to have separate pages for each generations.

So... Should we turn this into a general Armored Core thread?

Might as well, I posted here because we don't have one and this was the first that showed up when googling it.

I think we should use this one since it's more recent and created specifically for the newest game.
