Is it possible to play Everquest with minimal to no interacting with other players? I've always been interested in the game but I don't like actually talking to players online. I played a bit of Everquest once but I don't think I ever figured out how to get out of the intro cave.

Not really. The earliest levels can be done solo, but after a point (which varies by class) grouping is pretty much mandatory to make any progress at all.
