The thing is, not everything is a spoiler, and if people see it that way, they're going to be accidentally spoiled when they ignore the warning. Death Tropes
and Ending Tropes
have a natural correlation to spoilers, so people are more wary about them.
Also, "some examples are almost entirely in spoiler code" isn't what I'd say qualifies as a reason to remove all
spoiler code. That there are some
spoilers in most examples indicate to me that it's possible to write a great deal without spoiling anything.
