Atlanta is where Martin Luther King, Jr. is from. There are also more actors from here than you think. More locally, apparently the creator of 3rd Rock from the Sun and That 70s Show went to a school about 15 minutes from me. Also we're not all gun toting rednecks.

[up][up]I thought they made it illegal for tourists to partake in that activity a month or a few ago?

@ Odd. I'm not up-to-date with the Free City of Amsterdam's legislature's dealings, but I do know that Birmingham is the weed capital of these European Communities.

I... I adore you. And that's all I wanted to say, bye bye.

Well, I suppose that's just one more reason to visit central England.

I didn't say we give it out like candy. You actually have to find the stuff. And unless you want Birmingham's Finest on your ass, I suggest you stay low, and go to the South Asian parts of town. They probably have it.

I... I adore you. And that's all I wanted to say, bye bye.

Hey, I'm not an expert on weed production in the EU, but we produce shittonnes of the illegal variety here. Especially in the South Asian districts.

I... I adore you. And that's all I wanted to say, bye bye.

Neither here. Although, theoretically, its de facto legal to have it on your person, as long as you don't smoke it in public.

I... I adore you. And that's all I wanted to say, bye bye.

Definitely not a weirdo
In Seattle, the police department's policy on weed basically amounts to, "We have more important things to deal with. Like parking tickets." And it might not even be illegal for much longer.

But then how do you explain why Canadians are always so chill about everything?

0dd: You can be chill without being a stoner.

I have literally been described as "the ultimate stereotypical laid back Canadian."

I don't smoke weed unless I'm really drunk.tongue

During Hogmanay there's a procession that goes from the town centre (?) down to the harbour, swinging fireballs over their heads all the while to welcome in the new year and (IIRC) ward off evil spirits. Once they get to the harbour they give their fireballs a massive heave and toss them into the water. It may not sound awesome, but if you're there in person it is a different story.

Also, the crown jewels were kept in the nearby castle at one point in time (they were eventually smuggled out by some people during an attack IIRC). And the fossil of the oldest air breathing invertebrate yet discovered was found here. The guy who invented the pneumatic tyre was also born here, and Robert Burns used to visit if I've got my facts right.

Man, my town is much more interesting than I remember it being.

My home island has a thriving folk music culture, and both keeps old traditions and brings new ideas and impulses to Norwegian folk music.

Australia has a number of things I'm not utterly ashamed of right now, we have a Female PM, we have the new wave band Icehouse, Ozsploitation cinema, we're responsible for the Mad Max trilogy which revived the post apocalyptic genre to a new audience... we have boomerangs, we have Garth Nix, John Birmingham who I met in person and he signed my comic book of He Died with a Felafel in His Hand, that's all I can think of off the top of my head that doesn't make me ashamed of being of the nationality I am due to racism sexism and homophobia from the likes of Alan Jones.

Most people from my town would say "Carlos Boozer," but A) I don't give a flying flip about basketball and B) People still don't know who he is. I'd have to go with the fact that I live in the 2nd biggest city in the U.S.A. (area-wise) and I live down the street from one of the country's best performance theatres. Expanding to the state level, we have the best seafood in the whole damn world and our air is still clean.

Can anyone else here say they live in the state that gave the world Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons, etc.?

I could list all the people New York City has given the world, but I don't want to crash the site.
It was an honor
