Pokémon Role-Playing Game Interest Check Thread.

Trainer Sign-up:

• Name: Rine Akimiro
• Gender: Male
• Age: 14
• Region of Origin: Johto
• Personality/Bio: As many of his Pokemons, he is stubborn, overly competitive and moved by his emotions too easily to the point of facing a Blastoise with two fire-type Pokemons only (on their first evolution), even knowing the results would be disastrous. However, that does not mean he is stupid - he hardly gives up without a battle and develops strategies for each fight, more often than not on the middle of the battle. In short, overly impulsive and 'wild'.
  
  
  

• Name: Kyou
• Species: Combusken
• Gender: Male
• Personality/Bio: His appearance is of a common Combusken, except that he uses a white headband and a red wristband.
• Background: Rine's first Pokemon, which he caught with a friend's help when he was 8 years old. Since then, they have been developping a strong bond, since Kyou shares a lot of traits with his trainer - they're both overly stubborn and impulsive, headstrong and somewhat reckless. The only difference is that Kyou is not as tactical as Rine, leaving all the "complicated stuff" for him while he deals with his opponents.

• Name: Ryou
• Species: Monferno
• Gender: Male
• Personality/Bio: The fire on his tail is of medium size, and his blue mark is not bright at all.
• Background: Rine's third Pokemon, who challenged Kyou after he and his trainer were lost on a forest while chasing a Gothita who stole something valuable from them. At some point after the battle, Ryou decided to join them by his own free will. Unlike Kyou, his fighting style is more tactical based, trying to find an opening more than making one by himself and not taking much risks. Oddly enough, he is considered too serious for a Chimchar/Monferno, acting too rationally.

• Name: Celes (whoever notices the pun gets a cake)
• Species: Gothorita
• Gender: Female
• Personality/Bio: Her appearance is not that different from an ordinary Gothorita.
• Personality: Basically, a Jerkass with a Heart of Gold. A street smart who apparently only cares about her own profit, not hesitating to use any kind of trick to leave with the upper hand. On the other hand, she tries to do everything for what she values the most. Whether it is a good or a bad thing, the opinions vary.
• Background: Rine's second Pokemon, who stole something valuable from the team when she was a Gothita. They followed her into a forest, managing to make Rine lose track of her and go deep into the maze-like woods. After his only Pokemon had fought Ryou and other wild ones, the group was too tired to defend themselves. Noticing they were in danger, she helped them trick the wild Pokemons chasing them, and hide somewhere safe. Thus, they started to develop a bond.

• Species: Charizard
• Gender: Male
• Personality/Bio: He is the oldest member of the team. Probably the oldest. His abilities suffer from this, but his experience counts a lot.
• Personality: Probably the most bossy member of the team, he often picks on everyone for their mistakes, which is quite annoying for those who don’t know him. On the other hand, he is always trying to help them improve, sharing tips and helping with training in general, and cares the most about their performance. Acts like a leader, but in fact, he is too overconfident and sometimes lets important details to get by him.

• Name: Raine
• Species: Blastoise
• Gender: Male
• Personality/Bio: As old as the oldest member of the team, he is a fully aged Blastoise with a sturdier shell than the ordinary ones, though his speed suffers from that.
• Personality: The Lancer to Sanryu. He is more comprehensible and listens well to his team’s problems, acting like some sort of listener and advisor. Calm, composed and friendly, Rine leans the most on him when it comes to strategies. On the other hand, he is quite a slow thinker and lacks the impulses Sanryu has. Raine is often seen watching battles, or helping them on a pinch, rather than participating actively, as he does not like them very much.

After talking to Eskay, I decided to help him bring this RP back to life.

Player

• Name: Jessica Neva
• Age: 15, almost 16
• Hometown: Nimbasa City, Unova
• Appearance:
  • Very long red hair, gold eyes, a worn-out sleeveless shirt and likewise-worn denim shorts (the latter two being slightly small on her). Does Not Like Shoes.
• Personality:
  • Kind and energetic, not one to pass up lighthearted snark when she gets the chance.
• Backstory:
  • Until two months ago, Jessica lived a normal life. Until two months ago, she wasn't really all that interested in the whole "trainer" thing. But two months ago, she learned that her parents had been caught in a sudden storm at sea on the way to Hoenn for a vacation, drowning in the disaster. After about a month of depression, she decided to stop grieving and actually try to carry on with life. The best way to go about doing this, she figured, was to become a trainer.

Pokemon

• Name: Sunset
• Species: Larvesta
• Gender: Female
• Personality:
  • Shy and introverted, made even more so by the fact that her only "family" can't understand her.
• Backstory:
  • When Jessica's parents went on their fatal vacation, they left a Larvesta egg in her care. This Larvesta hatched, and is currently her only Pokemon.

• Age: 17 (birthday: 7 November)
• Origin: Slateport City, Hoenn
• Bio: Jeff is your average 17 year old trainer…except for one thing: He's a telepath. Not particularly skilled with his ability, he sometimes can't really control it, mainly when in very stressful/scary situations, which has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion due to accidentally broadcasting thoughts meant to stay private. He is not able to use telepathy on Dark type mons.

• Personality: Laid back and relaxed, but also the voice of reason within the team.

• Gender: Male
• Approximate Level: Mid 20s
• Personality: He's hyperactive and quirky, but is incredibly loyal and very protective, especially of Elysia

Elysia

• Species:Sableye
• Gender: Female
• Approximate Level: ~5
• Personality: Affectionate and mischevious (I mean, she's a toddler, so that's pretty much a given :Þ). Sees Baxter as her "Big Brother"
• Bio: She hatched a few months ago after being given to Jeff by an old friend

Yes, this is an altered version of my WAAPT character, and is the starting point for my headcanon version of him.

Region of Origin: Celestial Town, Sinnoh

Approximate Level: Around 35-40

Personality/Bio: While he was being raised, he found a Larvitar out in the rain looking for food. Morvas took the little guy in, and raised him as he was being raised. They both grew together and eventually when the Larvitar evolved into a Pupitar, then into a Tyranitar. He decided that he should exploring the world. He also has an aspiration to become a Master Dark-Type Trainer.

Personality Wise, he is very elegant, and somewhat knowledgeable about the Sinnoh myths.

Name: Gasher

Gender: Male

Species: Tyranitar

Personality/Bio: Nice most of the time, but can be angered into a Rage. For bio check trainers.

Abilty: Sand Stream

Nature: Brave

There's not really an arc at all right now, I think you could just sign up now and be fine.

I'll make a new character - I can't remember guy. Just pretend he never existed.

• Name: Marcus ("Mark") Blackmore 
• Gender: M
• Age: 19
• Region of Origin: Unova (Castelia City) 
• Personality/Bio: Mark was a young aide to Professor Juniper and is a very capable scientist himself, greatly treasuring all he learnt under the Professor. However, recently he has left working at the Nuvema Town Laboratory in pursuit of his own field of research - he has invented a device that can analyse a pokémon's speech pattern and decipher it into his headset device which allows pokémon and trainers to converse - although he doesn't need the invention himself as he is an expert linguist. Mark is a scientist very high on his ethics... hIs reader devices are the size of a five-pence coin, weigh very little and attach painlessly to pokémon. Mark loves adventure, and is always after the discovery of something new. One day, he hopes to be a Pokémon Professor... although he does joke that he has to discover a new species of tree and call it a 'Blackmore' before that can happen. He is however disgusted by reckless science - for example he believes the project that created Mewtwo was both unnecessary and a somewhat ramshackle affair (since it, you know, escaped).

He has only recently returned to Unova after a long time spent in Kanto, having tagged every common pokémon there with a language device (with the exception of the Gastly line) Pokémon

• Name: Zodiac ("Zo" sometimes)
• Species: Zorua
• Gender: F
• Personality/Bio: Zodiac is a tricky bugger... she takes every opportunity she can get to play pranks and generally be mischeivous, but Mark himself is generally immune if he's doing something related to his research, as Zo would never get in the way of it.

• Name: Minnie
• Species: Mienfoo
• Gender: F
• Personality: Minnie is a very adventurous pokémon - she has often gone missing solely because she has felt like going exploring. But that's why she likes staying around with Mark - travelling with him for his research.

• Name: Hex
• Species: Haunter
• Gender: M
• Personality: Hex is quiet, introverted and wants little more than to be left alone. He feels a particular separation to his own kind, Ghosts for reasons Mark can't quite tease out of him.

• Name: Arthur Griffin (Art)
• Age: 17
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: Art is a tall blond haired guy, who is commonly found wearing a black t-shirt and beige jeans. He wears a blue coat, a bit like the one Volkner wears, and always keeps his hair spiked at an unbelievable angle.
• Personality: Art is a cocky young man, who is a big risk taker. He gets excited incredibly easily too.
• Background: Art fancies himself as the next up and coming gym leader, and travels in search of psychic types. He became a trainer to escape the monotony of Sootopolis.
• Hometown: Sootopolis, Hoenn.
• Other: He speaks fluent monese, but prefers to use telepathy to speak with us pokemon, mainly to annoy other people.

And his pokemon:

• Argo, a male Grumpig. He was Arts starter, and believes himself better than Arts other pokemon. Because he's spent so much time with Art, a lot of his personality has rubbed off on him.
• Morpheus, a male Drowzee. Art traded for him in Kanto, and because of this, Morpheus is a tiny bit disobedient, and often dozes off.
• Sol, a female Espeon. Art picked Sol up as an Eevee in Sinnoh. She is probably the nicest of his pokemon, and is often forced to be the Team Mom.
