TruthMarket is a website I've just discovered. It's a Kickstarter for fact checking; if you find a lie publicly spread, you can start a challenge against it, which others can sponsor. This money forms a bounty that can be awarded to those who settle the dispute.
I'm skeptical of its effectiveness. You have Politifact and other fact checkers trying to fight veracity problems in the media, and Intrade for people "to put their money where their mouth is" and attach financial consequence to holding certain political opinions. I doubt Truth Market will make us more honest. Your thoughts?
