Do we know whether Calisca is also a temporary party member?
Both of them are :P Thats why both of them can be lost in scenes before first cave is even finished. Like not doing anything to help Hayden when he is grabbed in that scripted scene
Hell, Calisca straight up leaves the part if you agree with Hayden to rest
My guess is that they both end up dying from soul windy thingy, but maybe they might actually survive
So Pillars of Eternity is pushing it's release to early next year.
Awwwww.
I hope that just means it'll be even better. But man. I was really excited for winter.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Eh, if they need more time, I'm not that bothered. Better than a buggy, premature release.
March 26, 2015 is the official release date.
The game has officially Gone Gold - and is being published by Paradox if you didn't Kickstart it.
The hype is real
So far so good. Got party wiped in my first fight, but just need to be more tactical.
Anyone else having trouble logging onto the backer portal to get their backer code?
The only trouble I had was thinking I had used another username at first.
^^^Wait, you can already play the game? I have to wait 9 hours for it to unlock on steam :(
^^Umm, not really, did you use right account?

Ok, it's been a while since I did a PROPER isometric RPG (Loved Planescape, 5 playthroughs etc) but never really managed to "get" Baldur's Gate or NWN.
I want to try this (And still need to do Wasteland 2 and Divinity Original Sin)
Would you guys recommend this one? I love Obsidian and In Xiles output so far, but the idea of a huge game is still daunting me for some reason.
Well, based on beta I'd recommend it

The critical reception has been very positive, the game is solid!
Now hoping that the game sells well and that nobody forgets about it in a few months...

Open beta was available beforehand.

Doubt it. Paradox Interactive is a good partner. And even if they're not involved in the sequel, I'm sure a sequel would easily be backed on Kick.

Okay, holy crap this is good X-x; And beginning seems to be pretty bug free for Obsidian
Pillars of Eternity is currently on the top of the Top Sellers list on Steam and GOG.
I am at the start, but the writing is just so good and rich, Chris Avellone did a really great job (Well, he wrote Fallout 2 and Planescape Torment but here the lore is from scratch). The interface is not the best but it is easier to get used to unlike the older games. The pre-rendered background is just so detailed with real-time effects and lighting. You are more rewarded for exploring, cleaning up messes, and dscovering secrets and little to none when it comes to killing, I like it.

I was supposed to just try it out and now I'm here at over 11 pm worrying about how the heck I do my schoolwork on time ;-;
huh. TIL i learned about the activate product button in steam
that was stupidly easy.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterAnybody get to the first town in the game yet? I just recruited Aloth and Eder. And I thought that Eder was voiced by Nolan North at first, but it turns it's Matthew Mercer!
So what's the portrait selection like? A while back I watched a demo with Josh Sawyer and it didn't seem too great. Am I gonna have to break out my old Baldur's Gate favourites?
Also, does anyone have an idea what the best class for a swashbuckler-type character would be? I imagine it's Rogue, like it usually is, but I could be wrong.

If you mean the guy from the start of the game, then yes, he's only a temporary party member.
