Wait… so does this go into Anime or Western Animation? It's always hard to designate these kind of mixed-style series…

IIRC, by convention Animesque gets in Western Animation. Unless of course it's actually a Japan/France coproduction, of which there have been quite a few).

It's a co-production between Zagtoon and Toei Animation.

Couldn't watch the video, but based on the screenshots, it looks more western than Japanese to me.

You'd question it more when you see the animation.

The one way to make sure Toei does good animation consistently; pay for it yourself.

I must have this now.

I thought it was that Toei was making this and Zagtoon was providing the ideas so it would be more of an anime.

The animation really reminds me of Soul Eater, in particular, the bit where Ladybug girl fights the mime is really reminiscent of Maka fighting Jack The Ripper.

Also, so far I'm loving the two villains. Pigeon guy because I suspect he's going to be Crazy Awesome and the Mime cause of the way he fights.

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne sprung into my mind when i saw this..... well nothing wrong with that, the PV was....okay i just hope not all Antagonists are that campy

You have a very low camp tolerance.

Well i like the Idea of a pigeon commanding villain but his characterdesign.... well i can see that his head should resemble a pigeons and all but that "waving his ass into the camera"- just was a little too much for me, well i guess the Big Bad is that older man at the end and he looked quiet sophisticated.

Does the Mimeguy actually block with invisible barriers? it seemed so in the scene where he was sparing with ladybug.

I think he's using his invisible hammers to block as well as fight.

This could be pretty slick if they do it right. Maybe it'll have a Lupin kind of vibe?

I like her outfit, too, reminds me of Tackle.

It's not coming out til 2013, but I can cross my fingers and at least hope it's early 2013.

I am really digging that art style, it looks very nice. I'll be looking forward to this.

I don't dig the chara-design all that much, but the animation kicks ass.

Also, if the series takes place in Paris, that Pigeon-master will be invincible X)
