Nozoki Ana (Feedback Wanted)

As there has been some discussion on Nozoki Ana and most of it points to it treading the borderline, we have opened a dedicated thread for its discussion. As it stands, there have been comparisons to Uwakoi and Sundome, although both tended no not show on-panel explicit sex.

I'll say it again: someone better provide us a good reason why we shouldn't give this work a devilhead, because it looks rather pornographic to me.

Does anyone have a link to the work in question? On Mangafox or something?

It's your guys' call. I didn't feel it quite pornographic enough, but it's ultimately all of yours judgment calls.

Most strips I saw on Google were just nude, not sex.

Ran through the first two volumes.

• All relevant characters at least 18 and above;
• Nudity in nearly every chapter;
• Masturbation or sexual acts every 3-4 chapters;
• Whited-out genitalia (on occasion), nipples uncensored;
• Intention to titillate: likely. Too many close-up shots. YMMV on this part.
• Plot so far: Girl blackmails neighbour into mutual voyeurism. Haven't gone far enough into the work to determine if this is an Excuse Plot - there seems to be a psychological aspect to the whole affair, to be fleshed out in later chapters. Even so...

I haven't read Uwakoi or Sundome, so I can't compare it with those two in terms of objectionable content. It's slightly less explicit than My Balls in terms of quantity, but I'm arguing that the intent is (primarily) to titillate. (I've made my feelings on the latter known, but that's water under the bridge now.)

• Personal impression: Leaning towards cutting - this falls on the wrong side of the filter for me.

Given our (understandably vague, yada yada) criteria, I'd lean towards... cutting, I think. It has a plot besides the voyeurism, but there's just too much of the voyeurism to let slide.

After reading through chapter 10, I'd reccomend cutting it. It's true that there is something of a plot, but from what I could tell, it's mostly just used as a framing device to reach the questionable points. Genitalia are never clearly shown, but it leaves very little to the imagination.

If need be, I can read through the rest of it and make a full report.

Well, that's certainly a lot more than I was expecting. I'll do it if the vote reaches a deadlock, but from what I saw, it's pretty much Aki Sora all over again.

No need to exaggerate. Aki Sora was way worse in every way I can think of.

See, that's why I'm having such trouble with this. By the second page of Aki Sora, I was rolling my eyes and thinking "I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going," and it unfolded exactly as I predicted. I thought the same thing on Nozoki Ana, but it didn't go that way. Aki Sora felt like porn, from start to finish. This just feels...kinda weird.

Given the nature of voyeurism and the way they keep connecting it (in the parts I've read) to "revealing one's true self", that was probably the intention. At least, to me.

I'm conflicted on this one as well. I was thinking "primarily porn" while reading through the first volume, but since I was still on the fence I decided to read some more. As it goes on, the plot gets a good deal heavier, moving out of Excuse Plot territory for me at least.

I'm going to wait until I finish the series before making a final decision.

Since Nozoki Ana has gotten three angel heads now, is there anything that needs to be done here before the thread is locked?

Other than the usual "clean the examples of overly prurient writing," I think we're done with this one.
