Irma didn't answer each question in the order that it came. She paused for a moment while prioritizing her answers.
"I no not from where Necraforce came from." The otherworldly woman admitted. "It has existed longer then I have. It is a force from beyond your realm and this one. What I do know is that it feeds off destruction, death, and despair. It sends it's spawn into realms, into other universes like yours that it has targeted for consumption. Once there, they create chaos to fuel turmoil. The more despair they create, they stronger Necraforce becomes, hastening its arrival."
The black sun above disappeared. Everything went blank for a moment actually, as Irma sent mental projections to everyone just like the visions that had led them to the cave. The Knights were in a town, eerily similar to the one they had just been in back on Saffron. The main difference was that this one was still populated.
"What the hell? Elves?" Leartes blurted when he saw them. Indeed, the people of the town had pointed ears and fair skin. They were universally tall and carried themselves with a grace and poise that only came naturally to a select few.
"Correct," Irma said. "These people were called elves. They once lived in the Realm of Earestrah. This was them before Necraforce."
The people from a fantasy movie seemed to be moving about with busy lives. Enjoying their days in away no Knight under 30 had ever known. The scene changed. Same place, different time. A more recognizable atmosphere, the elves were no longer merry. Instead they moved briskly towards their destinations, saying little and looking about with fear, as if something would appear out of nowhere and abduct them. The black flowers had blossomed; Dark Hearts were everywhere.
"When Necraforce comes close to a realm, his spawn herald his arrival, acting as a vanguard." Irma explained. "As it gets closer, it only gets worse."
Again a flash forward in time. The sky was red. From the sky, it hailed ice and fire. Fountain sprinkled blood instead of water. Animals and people lay dead in the street. The whole town was in chaos. Nightmares where everywhere, attacking with abandon. Crazed or Deark Heart possessed people join the fray, hurting themselves and others. A man's shadow rose up from the ground and strangled him. A woman convulsed as her body was split in two by some force inside her. A crying child was dragged by tall hooded figures towards a large blob, which they hurled the screaming young one at to be immediately consumed. Larger monsters cut down people where they stood with bladed hands. Doors and windows locked themselves, trapping helpless people indoors to burn or suffocate from fires that spontaneously burst into existence. The ground opened up and swallowed crowds into its earthy maw.
"Then Necraforce arrives to feast."
Another time change. What was left of the town and people was immediately destroyed by a large black tendril. Destroyed might not be the right word though. Where the appendage of Necraforce had touched, there was nothing. No bodies, no buildings, no ground or air. There was just an emptiness. Black as opposed to white. It was difficult to tell Necraforce apart from the space nearby.
The vision ended.
"Once Necraforce has consumed all the sadness and suffering of a realm, it obliterates it, then leaves, sending its monsters in search of a new one. Right now, the Realm of the Four Worlds is its next target." Irma was in front of the Knights once more. She turned towards Cosmo.
"You cannot, Knight of Life. The power you received can combat it's spawn, but Necraforce itself transcends anything you could bring to bear against it. The only way to stop it," she looked at Adam, "Is to find what the Hexra were after; the Creation Jewels."
"The Hexra are Necraforce's most powerful spawn. They can think and reason on a rational level just like you. They move from realm to realm ahead of the rest of the monsters in search of the Creation Jewels. Once they - "
Irma stiffened. She paled and a worried look spread across her face. If her eyes were open they would have widened right then.
"They're coming. You have to leave!" She exclaimed.
In the blink of an eye, everyone was back in the cave. The trip back was slightly more pleasant then before. They weren't stunned, but they were more or less tossed back into the cave like rag dolls. Everyone was thrown onto the ground or atop one another. The Knight costumes were gone, their regular clothes back on. Everyone who had suffered injuries earlier was still thankfully healed.
Irma was not present, but her voice lingered in their heads.
I am sorry, but I have to go. I will contact you as soon as I can. In the meantime...
The stone that had transported them glowed once more. Then, like a collapsing building, broke apart.
Take pieces of the Realm Stone with you. Use them to find the Creation Jewels and other Knights before the Hexra do. If you can get seven of them we can awaken those who can face Necraforce!
There was a pause.
If you fail, then you are all going to die.
Then total silence. The Knights were on their own now.
You give me joy, You give me hope, You give me love that doesn't change.
