Anything about Half-Life 3 is obviously fake as they're developing Episode 3, which isn't Half-Life 3. There seems to be a pattern to the numbered entries.

I feel bad for Half Life fans. They've been anticipating Episode 3 trailers being shown at every games event for the past five years, and every time they have been disappointed.

Apparently the way things work at Valve is whenever you want to work on a project, you just work on it. Like there's a section for every major title and you just move your desk over there. That's why L 4 D 2 came out so quickly, everyone wanted to finish it. Now i don't think anyone wants to make Episode 3.

Valve has said that they regret trying the episode format. I wouldn't be surprised if they skip straight to Half-Life 3.

Come on guys. Last Guardian wasn't announced that long ago, and Final Fantasy XIII can't be any for than two years old at this point.

I think people kinda forget why HL3 doesn't seem to come up much with Valve. Like, Valve is busy with the following:
- A new Counter Strike game and a new Dota game.
- The recently-announced Mann Vs. Machine mode for Team Fortress 2.
- The also-recently-announced Game Hub feature for Steam.
It was announced in 2009, but in the 3 years or so we've known about it almost nothing has surfaced. Not to mention all signs are pointing to the project being dead, but Sony still insists that nothing is wrong. Seems a lot like DNF to me. Sony is basically dragging TLG's corpse around on a leash.
Rumor
that HL 3 and Dragon Age 3 will be revealed sometime this Gamescom.
