Noticed this didn't have a topic. Just watched the first season not too long ago. So yeah, anyone else felt the last few episodes of season one were contrived?

Just rewatched this series for the third time last month. I don't get what you're saying

It'd be an excellent series if only the two leads weren't so bloody irritating. The rest of the cast was fantastic.

I've actually been meaning to rewatch this after picking up the complete series at Anime Boston a few months ago. It's a great series with a surprising amount of heart, and it's an interesting look at gender politics, I'd say.

I dunno, Dita kind of grew on me over the two seasons. I do wish that she'd matured as much as Hibiki did though, but I suppose that's part of her charm.

Oh, this series is a blast. It has problems, but it is so compulsively watchable! Although I really hate the loli nurse, Paiway. She seems to have no purpose but to stir up conflict in the final episodes of the first season. The conflict there is, is the sudden huge mistrust of the men that comes almost out of nowhere because Dita was cutting onions and Paiway thinks Hibiki made Dita cry. Seriously, two seconds of talking would have cleared it up. It's a conflict from a bad sitcom, basically.

Overall, my opinion is that Vandread is far better than it has any right to be. I realized this ages ago, but Vandread is basically the anime version of Star Trek Voyager, done right. Seriously. The women are the Federation, the men are the Maquis, the Earthlings are the Borg, only still menacing, and you even get all the random planets that get visited, and Vandread has the additional strength of not being a show that was intended to go on for an indeterminate period of time.

I like Dita. Mainly for not being a childhood friend or Tsundere. Anyway, while Childish I prefer that over Bitchiness.

I heard there was a post series special story, but I haven't been able to find it? Any ideas?
IIRC it was just a Clip Show special episode.

Then where can I find that?

[up] It's on the current DVD set. It's a pair of compilation episodes of the first season and second season. There's nothing new about them, as they're just cut down re-tellings of the series. They're not really worth hunting down. I think Funimation just included them for completeness.

Entirely. You're better off catching all 24 episodes of the show anyway.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
