Well I think the movie adaptations of Patlabor may work.

95 percent sure Patlabor wasn't in SRW J....

Also, for the SRW fic I'm planning, I might swap out Mazinger Z (Go Nagai manga version) for Shin Mazinger, or else take elements from both.

There's others I'm considering (Various Marvel stuff, ect) but I haven't tended to this list in a while... I definitely intend to add some of the Banpresto Originals (Who can say no to Sanger?) and some of my own originals, but I've got to work hard on designs for my own stuff (I suck at Designs. ^^;;)

Also was considering adding Robot Taikwon V if I can find anything on it, among others.

Still I feel my list a bit lacking... Anything I can easily find access to that you guys feel would work? (Trust me, it looks like a lot, but a lot of the stuff doesn't show up until the sequels - I actually have them marked on my personal stuff WHICH story they show up on, but I felt that some of that would hint at where the story's going if I labeled it).

I note that some of the plot points are appropriated from other parts in the series (The Alpha and Z Timelines are particularly notable, but they're mostly how some things kick off, as I don't intend to go into the same thing as all of them).

The Taekwon V movie (The original at least) is fully remastered and available from South Korea with English subs.

If you're really looking to add more characters and mechs (and honestly why would you because that's a lot of characters and franchises to juggle) I'd suggest Armored Core and Gundam Build Fighters.

Ryu: First up, welcome! Secondly, holy shit that is a lot of stuff. I definitely approve of using Girlfriend of Steel, though. I'd use it in my fic that I'm working on, except that I'm lazy and don't need to add more work.

I'm in the process of working out a fic of my own that doesn't have so many works in it, and without having even properly done a prologue, I'm already thinking I need to drop a few series ^details most notably Martian Successor Nadesico and Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ; Gundam Wing I can hopefully keep since a large part of its action is still within the earth sphere, and I'm not letting go of G Gundam because "holy crap a SRW that actually uses the Gundam Fight, instead of dropping it just to use the Dark Gundam plot!".

So, as I make yet another fruitless attempt at starting, I've got some thoughts on the first chapter. Namely, it'd probably kick off with either EI-02's arrival during Mamoru's school trip or the first episode of The Brave Express Might Gaine (a Mad Scientist builds a Humongous Mecha so he can drain all the energy out of a power station), or both, and then kick open the Mazinger Z plot, what with Koji finding the OMGWTFBBQ giant robot in his basement after an earthquake and epically failing to control it, whereupon the Brave Express Team and the Gutsy Geoid Guard team up to bring the rampaging Mazinger under control.

Or, I could hold off on those for a while, and instead start with D-Boy's assualt on the Orbital Ring. 'Course, before I do anything of that sort, I need to cook up a proper Opening....

I think I'm close to finding a way to conclude my oft-discussed idea of Shinji being traumatized after seeing an enemy pilot die in front of him and no longer being able to connect with other pilots...

I figured him meeting the crew of Gipsy Danger would at least give him other people who know a bit what he's been through before joining the Super Robot Wars, and that he could connect to without just writing away his previous troubles. At the least, he'd be a bit more willing to jump back into Unit 01 if he was sure it was unmanned robots attacking or monsters or something.

Any thoughts on my above post, specifically on whether I my prologue dilemma?

If you are going to do a split route thing, you could do both and each one serving as the opening for a route.

Now, my own idea for a SRW fanfic:

• SRW AR (Apocalypse Redux): Fifteen years ago, Earth went to Hell. The Space Revolutionary Army dropped a great number of colonies, at the same time that teh Shin Dragon contaminated great extensions with Getter Rays and something in Antarctica awakened, causing Second Impact.

Series included: Mazinger USA (only as backstory), Mazinkaiser SKL, Getter Robo Armageddon, After War Gundam X, Metal Armor Dragonar, Neon Genesis Evangelion (mixing original and rebuild) and others (I don't have my notes with me just now).

Of those, I've only currently seen Evangelion and Getter Armageddon, but I do approve of using Mazinwarrior (on my to-read list), even if only for the backstory.

.... hrm... guess I might use D-Boy's assault on the Orbital Ring as a prologue, and then do the Mazin/Yuusha stuff as a proper first chapter.

Also thinking that Misato might get an Early-Bird Cameo if I swap her in in place of some random guy during one of Sally's endless job scenes (namely a cutaway scene where she's working at an electric fuel station and accidentally starts fantasizing about Might on the job, leading Misato (the current customer) into a bout her usual good-natured teasing.

Also currently thinking that, as both hail from Brave Series, the GGG and Brave Express Team will probably be like the organizational equivalent of Bash Brothers, especially Tri-Bomber and ChoRyuJin.

Misato as an Early Bird Cameo sounds good, and add those little details of connectivity that made a good SRW story. As I haven't seen Brave Express, I can't really comment on that.

On another note, which Gundam were you going to include? Because there is almost always, where they both appear, Amuro-Misato flirting, for obvious reasons.

Going back to my own fic, I found my notes, and I have to add Robot Jox and The Big O to the list above (I have Mospeada and AT VOTOMS as a maybe).

Definitely using Mobile Fighter G Gundam (consists of the backbone of the world-building) and I want to use Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (series, not Endless Waltz). As far as UC goes, I was thinking of using ZZ for the fic proper, and possibly Dynasty Warriors Gundam as a Post-Script Season to the fic.

Don't know what those obvious reasons are, unless their seiyuu are married or something.

Might Gaine is the other Brave Series that starred Nobuyuki Hiyama as The Hero, and I personally consider Tri-Bomber to be ChoRyuJin's forerunner (in the same way that Volfogg can be considered an expy of Shadowmaru).

Yeah, there are always some seiyuu jokes in SRW. IIRC in Impact there was some scene where Misato (Sailor Moon seiyuu), Rah Xephon!Haruka (Sailor Mercury seiyuu) and Shinji (Sailor Uranus seiyuu) make a stealth Sailor Moon reference when the Nobel Gundam appears.

Have you thought about adding some of the Macross series? Macross II, for example, has been never used in SRW (apparently is thought as the black sheep of the franchise).

I'm considering using Robotech, which As You Know is an adaptation of the original SDF Macross, on the basis of being able to have the wars that started with Second Impact end with the SDF-1 crashing into Macross Island.

I don't quite understand the question.

Although I am just planning on using the adaptation of Macross, and not the Southern Cross or Mospeada stuff.

Currently. I'm also massively behind on watching it, in all honesty.
