Ok, I've only got one active YKTTW
at the moment, so I'm willing to give it a try.
I'll dig through the other sections just in case there's more in-universe examples. I survived helping with the Ruined Forever
cleanup; I can probably survive one more dive into the world of fandom-bashing.
We're probably going to be able to cut all the current subpages, though. I can't imagine
that I'll find enough examples to require subpages.
eta: example(s) found:
misfiled under comic books:
- There's actually an example of this in an episode of The Big Bang Theory, where Sheldon gets in an internet argument with Batman fans over which Robin should be the rightful successor of Batman, in the event of Batman's death. It then spills over in real life when Sheldon mentions the argument to a friend who's a comic book salesman, and then they begin arguing with each other.
rewritten to focus on the in-universe bits:
- In iCarly, the show-within-a-show becomes the target of backdraft, and the protagonists have to try to remind their viewers of the MST3K Mantra.
eta x2: oh god, my eyes, my brain! I'm about halfway through, I've found two whole legitimate examples so far, and my opinion on the rest has gone from "we should probably cut it" to "burn it with fire!" I need
a break. Will try to finish up later.

"Existential Despair" is an oxymoron.
