Good image for Threatening To Shoot A Clown In The Face, but a bit of a stretch for this trope. Tough one to illustrate, though.
Anime-tedQuality's pretty shit, too...definitely could use something better.
Welcome, traveller, welcome to OmskDoesn't illustrate the trope, just a visual pun. Support a pull. I don't think this'll be easy to depict.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk Bird
mimitchi33Here's a picture from Garfield and Friends that perfectly illustrates this.◊ In the episode, Garfield goes on the game show Name That Fish to win Jon a birthday present. This screenshot is taken from the end of the episode when Binky the Clown shows up. While Gary is announcing the things that Jon will get for his birthday. After this happens, Garfield sprays Binky with the hose he is holding. This is why I think it's a good picture for this page. This also happened again in another episode, Peace and Quiet, where the whole plot was this. I have these◊ two◊ pictures from the episode that also illustrate the trope well.

Avatar by NeoriceisgoodNot sure. Probably a better Visual Pun than the current, but it isn't really the trope (which is about a story that starts out light-hearted but suddenly gets serious by virtue of no longer being light-hearted, if I'm reading this right).
mimitchi33Okay, I found two more that aren't plays on words.

Anime-tedThe second one is probably too close to being an Image Macro to use.
Nerds Are Sexy.. sometimesJust popping in to point out that those don't illustrate. It's about conveniently getting rid of the silly characters as soon as the story gets more serious. Like how on the Muppets' Christmas Carol, Gonzo and Rizzo run off when the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come appears, and don't come back until the finale. (Unfortunately, I have no suggestions. Either way I'd vote pull.)
This has got to be like the 5,000th time I forgot my email or password...
Avatar by NeoriceisgoodSo is the current image bad enough to be worse than no image? I'm on the fence about that, honestly - leaning toward "yes".
too angryYeah, I'd vote to pull the current image as well. The quality is awful, and it's an overly literal representation of the trope name.
Anime-tedI love how it looks like he's bending the clown's nose down with the barrel of the gun.

You need to Get Known to get one of those.
