I suppose it is okay then, Dragon. But I still want you to take away Dominate and Mind over Matter.

And sorry, wannabe. I just can't see it as anything but broken and OP.

  • Name: Eric Lambert
  • Sex: Male
  • Age: 16
  • Appearance: http://ctrlv.in/111877 (A drawing of him) He's very thin, pale, and kind of short. His hair is dark brown and his eyes are a weird shade of grayish blue-green. He normally wears jeans, sneakers, a hoodie, and a slightly crooked pair of glasses, along with a messenger bag to carry all his things.
  • Character Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Occupation: None
  • Personality: Timid, slightly perfectionistic, honest, hardworking, independent, intelligent, trustworthy, a little oblivious, and a bit of a doormat.
  • Powers/Abilities/Weapons: He specializes in turning himself and other things invisible and shrinking. When he's really angry (which rarely occurs), he can make things explode, although he tries to avoid doing so.
  • Background: He developed his powers when he was about seven and has since used them mostly to avoid being bullied and occasionally to pull pranks on people. When he was nine, he and his parents moved to Radio City, where he spends most of his free time wandering up and down the streets to see if anything interesting is going on.

Hi, co-GM here, Saturns on vacation so I figure I'll just help out here.

Okay so first, we don't normally allow Telekinesis because it can be quite the gamebreaker when it works on people—just either take it out or add the caveat that it doesn't work on organic matter or anything directly touching organic matter.

Also, how did he get his powers? Has he always had them? How have they affected his life? Put that in his bio.

Well aside from you having added all of one and a half sentences, which isn't really cool dude, the powers are kind of disjointed and don't have a definite source, or explanation, or theme. Overall you just need to put more into your profile.

[up][up] What Taco is trying to say is that 'he suddenly developed superpowerrs' isn't enough of a Hand Wave. Take my characters for example — they've all been experimented upon by a cult of Magitek scientists. It's a Hand Wave, but it's enough, because it roughly explains how (and why) they got their powers, even if the details are glossed over.

I'm going to try to take another crack at this, if that's okay with everyone.

Name: Brad Washington

Sex:Male

Alias:Young Blood

Age: 16

Appearence: Fairly short dark brown hair, brown eyes, around 5' 7", a medium build, Typically wears jeans and t-shirts, unless he's "Doing business" in which case he wears a rubber mask of one of many famous political figures which cover pretty much his whole head, a kevlar vest over a black shirt and sweatpants

Character Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Occupation: High school student (sophomore), Master thief

Personality: Magnificant bastard is just beginning to describe him. He takes advantage of the fact that he looks like an innocent kid. He is a master thief who uses this to make some extra cash (a good amount of which goes to his family), but other than that is a fairly normal teenager. He isn't all bad however he tries if it is at all possible, to avoid inflicting severe injuries on people. He also considers lying, and breaking deals to be an abhorent crime that only the worst criminals commit. He is usually sarcastic when talking to people, however usually acts kindly to most people. Finally Children are off limits, he will intervene even at his own risk if he sees a child in danger.

Powers/abilities:He has the ability to see all of his options in any given situation, and the probable outcomes of each option. He often uses this to get away with what he does. He is trained in muy thai which, when combined with his power makes, him a force to be reckoned with in a fight.

Weapons: Airsoft gun (Mostly used to make people believe he has a real gun) Flash grenades, smoke grenades and Tear gas.

Background:He was born into a lower middle class family, with his mothsis father, and two older siblings (one brother, and one sister) neither of which he has a good relationship with as they both see him as a major annoyance. After his Father lost his job, when Brad was 14 he started his career as a theif using an ability he'd had since he was born (his superpower), often times he would use a good portion of his money to help his family through tough times, as a generous benefactor to them.

Also looking back I'm unsure if he would be Neutral Evil due to his motives, could someone help with that.

[up] This guy seems like a Chaotic Good/Chaotic Neutral character to me. A truly Neutral Evil character would not give any money to his family, won't act kindly (unless it's an act), and won't have a soft spot for children.
I think it's best to call him Chaotic Neutral (and play him that way). I won't comment on the powers because I suck at balance. That's for Saturn to decide.

I personally think Lawful Evil, but it could either way.

As far a his powers are concerned, here's how I see it: they're fine, but he can't use them to predict people. Being able to basically run a simulation of the immediate future in his mind as far as the way buildings or other objects would behave, or to effectively think super-fast by considering every option he could take, but I just don't want you to use it to read minds. Is that doable? What does everyone else think?

Antivillain Since: Jul, 2012
#163: Aug 27th 2012 at 1:09:16 PM

[up]My thoughts on it are that he can use this based on what he knows for a fact. Like for instance if there is a man standing in front of him with a gun and it's leveled at his head.

He could see his options in that given situation, and the immmediate consequences of that but that is the limit of what he can do with it.

But if say foor instance that guy with the gun was behind him and he had no information that would suggest the guy was behind him he couldn't use his power.

Isn't "seeing every option" what all the characters do anyway? And if you cranked that up to Disaster Dominoes, it seems like it would be impossible to use without godmodding.

Antivillain Since: Jul, 2012
#165: Aug 27th 2012 at 2:22:33 PM

The difference between my character and what you described, is he can see the exact outcome of whatever his options are, in the immediate future, he can't see though

"If I duck this punch then he will put a hole in the wall hitting a man in the next room who will come out with a shotgun, then shoot wildly putting several people on edge, causing them to call the police leading to a shootout in which 49 fatalities occur."

But he can only see based on what he knows for a fact, but he at any instance he automatically knows all of his options and the immediate consequence of each, that is where he differs from the others.

This has sparked my interest. Would a somewhat Lawful Evil "soldier" for hire be ok? I want to try and write such a character.

I have read the three threads of this iteration of the RP, and as it is a lot of info, I might make a few mistakes when addressing other players' characters, just saying.

I think I'll give this a go.

  • Name: Norman Lorax
  • Sex: Male
  • Alias: Stormin' Norman
  • Age: Chronologically 39, "Biologically" mid-20's
  • Appearance: Norman is a powerfully built individual who stands at a menacing 6 foot 5 inches with deep blue eyes and jet black hair. His hair has two silver streaks on either side of his head that start near his temples and circle back behind the base of his ears. You could easily imagine him looking like a younger version of the real Stormin' Norman.
  • Character Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Occupation: Hired Muscle - Specializes in "Extra-Legal Package Acquisition" and "Non-Consensual Target Retrieval"
  • Personality: A shy and polite individual, Norman will usually not talk to strangers unless spoken to first or if it's completely necessary to initiate conversation first. Despite his profession, he lives by a simple code given to him by Doctor Lorax:
    • Do not hurt children—ever.
    • Do not hurt women—unless they hurt someone first.
    • Try not to destroy things—it makes staying under the radar a lot harder.
    • We're always going to need money, so never say No to a job that doesn't break the other rules.
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Being a military grade android, Norman is naturally stronger, quicker, and significantly tougher than a typical human.
    • Having been raised in a military installation, Norman is quite familiar in the use of countless firearms. However, he never carries one willingly with his weapon of choice typically being a 35'' retractable baton.
  • Background: Years ago, Norman was designed to be perfect android. He was stronger than most, faster than most, smarter than most, and almost-completely indistinguishable from a normal human. Unfortunately, as one would expect when dealing with artificial intelligences, this did not go as planned. Though he bonded greatly with the psychologist who designed his emotional interface, Norman chafed under the rest of his human overlords and finally flew into a rage and destroyed much of the facility that had been housing him. Norman escaped with the psychologist, Doctor Lorax, and in his efforts to support themselves while on the run Norman has turned to the criminal underworld to shelter them from the law. Now almost forty years later, Dr. Lorax is dying and with the pair no longer being hunted, the doctor wishes for Norman to pass into the care of his nephew, Reginald Lorax, who lives in Radio City. The dear doctor also wishes for Norman to finally cut ties with his shady employers, but Norman has grown too fond of the illegal activities that he has taken a part of for so long now...

Actually, come to think of it, I kind of built the character around the superpower and the speed of light was quite silly, so what if I toned the speed down to maybe 50 m/s (112.5 mph)? Also, I forgot to put this the first time around but he needs to stand perfectly still when charging a Dash.
