Excluding live recordings as well gives "Atom Heart Mother" by Pink Floyd as the longest track, at 23:44.

Shortest would be 'Fingertips (Who's Knocking on the Wall)' by They Might Be Giants at four seconds.

The longest would be Dream Theater's 'Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence' at 42 minutes and 4 seconds.

The four second long outro to Rilo Kiley's The Execution of All Things is my shortest. And I'm pretty sure it's all silence. Not entirely sure if I should even count that...

The longest is "The Battle of Hampton Roads" by Titus Andronicus at 14:02.

Shortest? That THX sound that plays in your earphones to make you know your audio is working properly.

Longest? I think either "Won't Get Fooled Again" or "Freebird".

Shortest is actually a tie between Jaded by Green Day (though I always listen to it alongside Brain Stew, so...) and H.T. by Tsuneo Imahori/from the Trigun OST. Both are a mere 1:33 long.

By contrast, my longest song is The Voyage, by Timeless Miracle, clocking in at a total of 14:10, a true epic in every sense of the word :)

Shortest: There's about nine songs tied for this position, all clocking in at 4 seconds but lets say "Raymonde Fluffs It" by Nurse With Wound, as its also the most minimalist.

Longest: "1.1" by William Basinksi (Disintegration Loops) at 63:33

Shortest: "Bulb" by Egg. 0.11

Longest: A full performance of J.S. Bach's Cello suites 1-6 by Yo-Yo-Ma clocking in at 2 hours 10 minutes and 29 seconds.

Shortest: "Her Majesty", by The Beatles (Abbey Road), at 26 seconds. 2nd shortest is "It's Johnny's Birthday" by George Harrison (All Things Must Pass), at 49 seconds.

Longest: George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", as performed by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, at 18:05 minutes. 2nd longest is Tchaikovsy's "Capriccio Italien", as performed by my old High School symphony orchestra, at 15:22 minutes.

Longest is "Art of Life" (29:00), followed by "The Water" (23:13). Shortest is the Dr. Horrible instrumental theme, which is 0:10. For shortest actual song (rather than just an opening riff of a soundtrack), it's probably "Lion Man" at 1:20.
