The Beta Couple is another matter entirely, though...Their origin story is published in a collection of "questionable love" stories, just to inform you. However, by the time of the main manga, they've already settled into a steady couple.
The main couple is pure fluff, though.

Have any of you ever read Godchild? It was a manga I used to read back in middle school. I thought it was pretty good.

For Manhwa I'd recommend Fairytale For the Demon Lord.
Oissu! No, but I looked it up and it sounds interesting, so I might.
I found it really depressing.
Niehime to Kemono no Ou: he is the demon king, ruler of the beast people, terrifying arch enemy of all humanity. She is his 99th sacrifice, to be devoured by him as part of the annual ritual that keeps the armistice between demons and humans alive. Naturally they fall in love, as she's not afraid of him and he is touched by her trust and friendliness. A tale as old as time indeed.
Started reading Demi-chan wa Kataritai, which was brought up a few pages ago. Rather cute, overall. A few normal girls who just happen to be various youkai. And of course the vampire is named Hikari... She's fun, though. Tetsuo is very relatable. Well, most of the time. Except when he smokes. I agree with Hikari on that.
I found it a bit cliché, but it kinda works. Not that much of it thus far, though.

Check out my fanfiction! It is depressing, this is true. But I enjoyed it.
Oissu! It's currently untranslated except for chapter 1, but I'm really starting to enjoy Romsen Saga a lot. This is… different. ALL the characters in this thing are hilarious in their own way (if you except the high density of Deadpan Snarking chiefs or assistants).
From the first 4 chaps it seems it's gonna have a Juuzai-esque construction, with seemingly unrelated chapters converging into a single story.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Backstreet Girls: Washira Idol Hajimemashita
KISSMANGA Summary: A group of 3 yakuza failed their boss for the last time. After messing up an important job, the boss gives them 2 choices: Honorably committing suicide, or go to Thailand to get a sex reassignment surgery in order to becomes "female" idols. After a gruesome year long training to become idols, they successfully debut, with overwhelming popularity, much to their dismay. This is where their tragedy truly begins.
Personal thoughts: Three chapters so far and boy do I want more. It's looking to be a not-so-subtle potshot towards idol culture and, let's get real for a minute, fuck idol culture. The three "heroes" go through hellish training, brainwashing, emotional cuteness conditioning, and over the top physical abuse from their yakuza boss/producer.
The delivery of the humor reminds me of Prison School; serious, detailed art contrasting stupid situations. Jasmine Gyuh's not even close to Hiramoto's art but it still works

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I don't know if it has been mentioned before but Bokura no Kiseki is quite an interesting series. It revolves around Harusumi Minami, an Ordinary High-School Boy who remembers his past life as a princess in a world of magic. One day Minami is attacked at school by someone using magic and the rest of his class begin remembering their past lives, all of whom died in the same castle at the same time as the princess. Where I am at the moment in the series (I have got a bit behind with my manga reading unfortunately) it is something of a mystery series as the characters try to figure out who it was that committed the attack that started everything off as well as what happened in the past when the princess and everyone else died.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellYeah, Bokura no Kiseki is great. It combines mystery, romance, and character drama so well. Too bad this is the kind of story thay will mever get an anime.
What makes you say that? It sounds like it would make a great anime.
Yesterday I discovered W Change!! and binged 2/3 through it already. It's about Kisaragi Maki, an girl who's a heir of Yakuza group but dreams of being a bride and living an ordinary life... except that she has a split personality, the "Violent Maki" who's a total badass and very much wants to become the next boss. Maki tries to deny her other personality, but the more she does, the more the other Maki pushes back. Add to that her boyfriend is the heir of another Yakuza group and that a third new gang that starts stirring trouble and Maki's dream of ordinary life seems more unrealistic with every day.
It's a pretty interesting take on the split personality plot, as the Violent Maki, rather than being just a dark side of Maki that threatens her a la Mr Hyde, is in many respects the superior personality, and Maki is told many times that by denying her she's only hurting herself. It gets especially interesting around volume 3 where Maki disappears completely and the Violent Maki is left in charge full time. Add to that a pretty interesting Yakuza plot, and I couldn't stop reading it well past my usual bedtime.
Mai Ball!: part underdog sports (football/soccer) story, parts harem series as seen through the eyes of the Childhood Friend haremette. The protagonist Mai has been helping her childhood friend Kunimitsu with his football practise practically from birth and he's now the star of his high school's football club, even as a first year. She on the other hand has not much interest in it, just wanting him (and frequently fantasising about him), but their routine has made her incredibly good too.
Reika meanwhile is a sporty cool beauty who also fell in lus^wlove with Kunimitsu when she saw him at an U15 tournament — she promptly transferred to his high school and is trying to start a girls football club. When she sees him and Mai practising, she's both jealous of her and wants her for her team. So Mai joins only to find out Kunimitsu has become its coach.
Mai and Reika are both great characters, Kunimitsu is not your usual useless male lead but actively ships the two together (for footballing purposes at least) and the story is nicely happy. Lots of fanservice & nudity, but mainly because of Mai's overactive imagination rather than the usual gropefalls.
x3 Because it's a one, big, continuous story. No arcs to split the stories into smaller sizes. It's difficult to transform such a story into a season-based anime (which all anime are currently), without making the end of each season a massive cliffhanger. Also, it's Josei, which is the least likely of the four main demographics to get an anime.
I'm not sure if it's "obscure" or not (there's no thread for it at least), but I've dived into Boku Girl (I'm at chapter 20). So far it's pretty much everything I expected it to be from the premise, but I feel like this could develop in a multitude of ways… in any case, it's a pretty fun read, with excellent art. And Loki is like a mini-Akane (well, even more mini).
…Which reminds me that I have yet to start I.S. Between this, Hatsukoi Zombie and that, I may be a bit too much into "gender identity" stories lately. —´.`—

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Oooh, niiiice. My personal opinion is that Boku Girl is a load of trash and I love it. Gender bender stories tick such a specific box, and it helps that the art is tons o better than its contenporaries
Without spoiling much, it does not take the road less traveled with this story.
If you want something that seriously goes somewhere, Balance Policy is probably a better pick. Complete too.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018So I stumbled upon this manga called Fire Punch.
Basically, superpowers , or "blessing" as it's called here, suddenly appeared in the world, and one particular ice power was so powerful it turned the entire world into a frozen wasteland. Our main character, Agni, is a blessed one with super regeneration. Then, one day, a man with the power of "fire that burns forever until the target dies" come and burnt down his village. Due to his super regen, Agni's burnt body keep regenerating, and he's stuck burning forever. Then he swore revenge against said guy.
It's an edgy revenge story with lots of gratuitous gore and violence, and much dissonance in values and morals.
...at least that's how it starts out.
Around chapter 10 or so, this one girl appeared and she singlehandedly turned it into one big pile of Black Comedy. Also lots of dick jokes. ...I'm pretty convinced the author is actually parodying those dark, gritty, "ow the edge" manga in his own way.
The best I can describe my impression is, like if you mix Berserk and Prison School together.
Bokugirl, chapter 87… I just realized why Fujiwara was my favorite character in this thing. She's the only (potential) member of Mizuki's harem who isn't a total creep. Seriously, Ide and Yamada are… the way they are, Takeru has been that close to raping Mizuki FOUR TIMES now, Tamako is a self-entitled bitch (though a funny one) and now we have Psycho Lesbian Imai, who gives a run for her money to Helga Pataki. Oh, and… Ideko is pretty harmless I guess. Surprisingly. But Fujiwara is just fun and adorable. Truly the only viable option.
Also, I compared Loki to Akane but she's not quite as good-intentioned… and far more cruel in her pranks…
Berserk meets Prison School… That's, err… some uncanny combination.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. The Takeru near rapes were disgusting. Damn tragedy since he would be a favorite in any other situation.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018This page is the perfect representation of the manga, I feel. It's gruesome at first glance, highlighting that these guys aren't right in the head. But it's also so over the top and the characters are aware of that as well. It makes you wonder whether the author is being serious or not.
For more lighthearted ones, Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet (Boarding School Juliet) is a decent romcom.
The Dahlia Academy is a boarding school attended by children of two countries, who do not get along. And it reflects by the students at well, who fight at every possible time. The two groups are the Black Dog, led by our MC Inuzuka Romeo, and the rival is the White Cat, led by the heroine Perucia Juliet.
In case you haven't figured out by their names, they're also dating each other. Except their positions require them to hide that and pretend to be mortal enemies. Basically, reverse Nisekoi.

That doesn't look like he's being very serious to me, but what do I know.
…Welp, finished Boku Girl (which actually ended only a few months ago. =O I had a good timing.) It wasn't the ending I wished for, but it was the most predictable I guess. Fujiwara remained my fave to the end, if only because of her speech near the end, pointing out that being in love with someone and wanting to live as a boy or a girl are separate issues. But well, I can get Mizuki's choice to remain a girl. As a boy he clearly was trying to be someone he just wasn't, because YOU GOT TO BE A MEH-AN. I just wish the message had been pushed a bit further to point out that it's not wrong for a guy to like "girly" stuff. There isn't any law forbidding boys to like cute plushies and sweet food. Though as it is, it raises the question of whether Mizuki was transgender from the start and Loki's little prank just made him realize it.
Anyway, it's still a… decent ending I guess? But I'm not completely satisfied with it. Also, Thor was hilarious.
Probably, but I like to think too hard about stuff.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I kinda doubt the manga thought that hard about it.It's kind of a gender bender law.
Secret SignatureSo I was randomly browsing r/manga and someone posted a thread about this manga called The Private Report on My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness. It's apparently an autobiographical manga essay from a 28 year old NEET woman, who's a college dropout, and her experiences with depression, loneliness, and a lack of purpose. There's only one chapter out but it's worth looking at imo.
It didn't give me super feels or anything, but it was pretty rad. i look forward to the rest of it being translated.
Can we recommend manhua here? I been following a Manhua called Black Dog. Basically our dog eared protagonist gets en rolled in an exorcist school and they fight zombies. It's pretty fun shounen fare. They're still translating it, but I believe it's finished in its home country.
