That freaking trope page has actually saved my life, or at least helped me mentally recover when I was horribly depressed. At least twice.
"If I was a tabletop RPG character, my player would be accused of both minmaxing and overdramatic roleplaying." -MeIt Makes Sense in Context. Well, sort of. It's also my Pet-Peeve Trope depending on how it's used. I don't like lampshading it because then it becomes "Hey, look at how totally weird this is." I like it best when the "Context" is an actual Mind Screwdriver, instead of just something contrived that only exists so they can say "Hey, look at how totally weird this is".
ME!? You want ME to be the director of your Christmas play?!There's something oddly...captivating?...about violence being done to a jaunty or mellow soundtrack. One of my favourite examples is the climax of the animated version of Metropolis.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I'm a big fan of works using Evil All Along or Good All Along, and I also get a kick out of when people Screw Destiny.
My new plan is so secret that even I cannot understand its full scope!I like Awesome Music, because, well, awesome music. I'm also interested in Complete Monster.

Hey.I have a list on my troper page, but I'll leave some explanations for a few here:
- AntiVillains, particularly ones who are a Well-Intentioned Extremist or a Noble Demon. I'm not saying that every villain needs to be sympathetic, but it can add a lot of depth to a character as opposed to being a Complete Monster or Always Chaotic Evil.
- He Who Fights Monsters since the quote it comes from is one of my favorites of all time, and I like seeing it done well (such as say, Spec Ops: The Line).
- Fate Worse than Death (and by extension, And I Must Scream), for the sheer number of creative ways they can be utilized.
- The "nothing at all" flavor of Nothing Is Scarier (or a really extended version of "wait for it"), when combined with either Scenery Gorn or Fridge Horror it can be absolutely nerve-wrecking.
Among other things.
Was Once a Man and Nothing Is Scarier, probably my favorite tropes in horror.
I like Tragic Villains too, considering they're usually the characters that stick with me most in storytelling.
But the big one here is Translation Train Wreck. That one NEVER gets old.
Enjoying Translation Train Wrecks since 2009!I like The Good Guys Always Win. It may be a Cliché but it's nice when good wins over evil.

Hey.Similarly, I've always loved Big Damn Heroes moments, even though they're so predictable.
Check out this fancast I made! Any votes would be greatly appreciated! My personal fave is One-Winged Angel.
Stuff like O.O.C. Is Serious Business, "The Reason You Suck" Speech and Even Evil Has Standards as well.
...Once More, with Clarity. There's something so satisfying about watching everything come together.
How have I not replied to this? I have so many!
To name a few (and this won't be all of them because I always forget something when making a list):
Taken for Granite
Eldritch Abomination (this was actually the first page I read on the wiki, fun fact for you there)
Eldritch Location
Alien Geometries
"Freaky Friday" Flip
Our Vampires Are Different (actually pretty much most of the vampire tropes)
Kindhearted Cat Lover , Cute Kitten , Crazy Cat Lady , Cats Are Magic , pretty much any trope that treats cats in a good light
Who Wants to Live Forever?
And I Must Scream
...and all the time travel related tropes.

Stupid doomed timeline...I Read That As "What's Your Favorite Troper?" Which is embarrassing considering that I'm not new to this thread. :P
I love Woobie characters. Beautiful cinnamon roll, too good, too pure.
Check out this fancast I made! Any votes would be greatly appreciated!Seeing a good Karmic Death (or karmic undoing), especially one directly caused by a villain's stupidity, is SO FREAKING SATISFYING.
And I forgot to add Giant Spider to my list, how did that happen?
Stupid doomed timeline...As paradoxical as this might sound, I actually like the Complete Monster trope. Mostly because of how cool and satisfying it is when such a villain gets defeated.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Same, with both that trope and Knight Templar.
Check out this fancast I made! Any votes would be greatly appreciated!Heyo, tropers.
If had to pick a single, all-time favorite trope, it would probably be The Dark Lord. There's just something about that archetype that I find compelling. Currently, though, I also quite like Monster Knight, Our Monsters Are Weird, and Situational Sword.

"The Stick has sentimental value. It's like an enormous, hideous teddy bear we can kill things with." -rikalousSurreal Horror. I just love the creepy imagery that comes from it. Also Scary Scarecrows.
“We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” - Lewis CarrollPart 1
- Ax-Crazy always seems to create villains that are either really hilarious, really sad, or a bit of both, and are almost always Creepy Awesome.
- Creepy Awesome and Crazy Awesome. 'Nuff said.
- Badass Longhair. I'm a Metalhead with long hair, so...
- Dark Is Not Evil. Also really fun.
- Earn Your Happy Ending/World Half Full: Yes, my worlds start off as hellholes and my stories are dark, but that just makes it all the more satisfying when my characters make a change for the better.
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette. Don't know why. Just like it.
- Gratuitous German. German is an awesome language.
- Heroic Albino. Preferably female. I have an albino Fetish.
- Kaiserreich. Don't know why.
- Mind Screws can sometimes be fun.
- Morality Kitchen Sink is a favorite of mine, with a lot of White-and-Grey Morality influences in some of my less dark works and Grey-and-Grey Morality influences for the rest.
- Mushroom Samba. As with Kaiserreich, I don't know why.
- Sophisticated as Hell is really fun.
- Unkempt Beauty.

Umm... so, I was here, I guess. If I wasn't, someone hacked my account. So, yeah.I find O.O.C Is Serious Business to be a nice kind of "shocking" part of a story, like I usually see this in pretty dramatic moments, and it kind of shows more of the character in question and what they're willing to do in serious situations.
Also Precision F-Strike for the same reason, though I would say I generally see better examples of the above.
EDIT: Actually no wait, I would probably say Gozilla Threshold since it's the embodiment of the feelings I get with these tropes lol

Patter Song. They sound nice.
From the cherry, to the apple, to the peach, to the plumTwo of my favorite tropes are Power Makes Your Voice Deep and Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are because there's so much potential for maximum intimidation of a character. It's doubly effective if the two above are combined. I also really enjoy Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold because I just really like it when a kid befriends the supposedly old and grizzled person only to find out there's more to them than meets the eye.
Evil Laugh and Villain Song are two of my biggest favorites.
