Rename (alt titles 7/24): The Archer get usage counts

Archer Archetype sounds good to me.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

Crowner hooked.

Is 13 to 2 enough to go ahead with the rename?

13 to 2 and the only option above -8 is definitely a reason to ask if a mod is willing to call this. :)
"Existential Despair" is an oxymoron.

I would say that is very clear majority. Someone hollered for a mod yet?
"Who watches the watchmen?"

It's gained 2 more votes. I've made the Alt-names crowner and I'll holler to swap it.

Calling crowner in favor of renaming The Archer. Alt names crowner swapped in.

Okay Guy
The crowner has been open for a quite a while now.

Archer Archtype seems like a clear winner.

Wasn't the point of the top post that there are different types of archer in fiction? Which, then, is the archetype?
Special trousers. Very heroic.

Yes, but they don't appear separate from each other usually.

Hm... Capable Independant Vulnerable Archer... nah, let's not go there cool

That's why Archer Archetype is currently winning. Because it makes it clear it's about the character's personality and not just the weapon they use.

What's wrong with Archertype?
   Evil is my favorite color.

It's a pun, but less clear than Archer Archetype.

Not that much less clear, and way more witty. Oh, well.

[up]That conclusion requires you to accept the hypothesis that puns are witty—something that some will question even for the best of puns (which this is definitely not).

But my biggest problem with Archertype is that it looks more like a typo than a name, and its meaning doesn't seem particularly clear. That's in addition to thinking it's not a very good pun.
"Existential Despair" is an oxymoron.
Unfortunately we haven't actually defined this. A lot to all of the examples have no context. They say things like, "used bows in battle, in contrast to their brothers, who used swords, " and "are well-known for their archery skills, " and "as well as her hunting partner." These probably fit but they seem to be written as if it's someone who's skilled with the bow instead of a certain personality.

We will delete all those examples after the rename.

If you delete all the Zero Context Examples there won't be very many left. I think they are examples of the archetype they just need some context to say how.

That's why we pull them to discussion, with a note explaining why they were pulled and what they need to go back. They're not truly lost, just waiting for someone with knowledge of the series to fix them.

And while I'm here: calling crowner in favor of Archer Archetype.

Is anyone going to make the switch?

Once we find someone willing to move 1340 wicks over.

O_o holy crap that is a lot of wicks.

Well what if we break the work into chunks? Would make it easier to handle overall.

Well here is the list. TheArcher Related to

So how should we go about this? We need a name to change the wicks to.

"Who watches the watchmen?"

Alternative Titles: The Archer

Vote up names you like, vote down names you don't. Whether or not the title will actually be changed is determined with a different kind of crowner (the Single Proposition crowner). This one just collects and ranks alternative titles.
