That's a brilliant design.
I could probably use Animists Awakening in my Green Devotion deck just to get my land out of my deck late game so I have fewer dead draws.
Yes. Yes, it is.
The Elves of Lorwyn make Our Elves Are Better sound like an understatement. They're narcisstic, self-absorbed creatures obsessed with beauty, who consider themselves the most beautiful of all, and believe anything devoid of beauty must be destroyed. They regularly go on hunts to exterminate anything and everything that isn't beautiful like them, calling them "eyeblights" and killing them with extreme prejudice.
They're everything terrible about Elves Turned Up To Eleven.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Oh god I just got the flavor of the asymmetrical P/T requirement.
BRILLIANT
Well no, have you looked at that chest?
Gideon's Origin, previewing Tragic Arrogance.
Marshall Sutcliffe's Limited Information, with some artifact-related cards.
And last but not least, Spellslingers Season 3, Episode 1, featuring Alison Haislip and a whole bunch of new cards.
BRILLIANT
I like that the Winnower herself has an asymmetrical P/T, highlighting the staunch hypocrisy of Lorwyn's elves. They have a bad case of rose-tinted speciesism.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.As does the non-Elf qualifier. So much hypocrisy, so much flavour.
Basically, Lorywn Elves are Nazi Elves.
Lorwyn confirmed for Aldmeri Dominion.
I stopped listening after you said "We need a plan."Scryfish remains in standard. I bet some people are happy about that.
No Satyr Wayfinder though. Good night, sweet prince.
EDIT: And unless it is in Battle for Zendikar this will be the end of a long run for Divination, won't it?

Oh wow that's really soon. I am excited.
Maro announces the end of seeded packs at Prereleases.
Booooooo. I wasn't as much a fan of when it was just 'pick a color' rather than picking a 'side', but I still liked getting to pick a direction to go at pre-releases. I shall have to be sure to let them know I disapprove of this decision.
And here I was hoping there might be a chance they'd let you pick either Eldrazi or Zendikar for Battle for Zendikar.

That might be a bit unbalanced. Given their nature, I'm expecting the Eldrazi side of Battle for Zendikar to have significantly fewer cards, but significantly more powerful cards.
Besides, being allowed to align yourself with the Eldrazi would be all kinds of flavor-breaking, and since the whole "Pick a Side" thing is pure flavor, that presents a problem.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I find it weird that it seems so many people dislike this change since it seemed before that most people wanted it. I guess the people who disapprove are often most vocal.
Anyway, I am ambivalent to this. I think the color-chosing thing is cool and fun, and should definitely not be abandoned for sets like Ravnica and Khans where it aids the faction theme, so I hope they don't irrationally write it off when the time comes for one of those again.
Still, I see why people dislike the "choose-a-colour" system, especially for a less color-based block like this one.
''The eternal question of reality, it still stands today.''Indeed, they are. Nobody launches on a crusade or holds a grudge because they're happy about something.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.From what I've heard more engaged and competitive players would be the ones agitating for the end of seeded packs, and they would be the group more likely to voice their opinion to Wizards.
I bet what may have tipped the scales here is something we don't see at all: what the stores and pre-release organizers wanted. This cuts down on the paperwork and ordering complications considerably.
On one hand I'm happy to have no set direction and not have to make any decisions until I see the cards I pulled.
On the other I'm worried that the lack of a seeded pack will make it harder to build a complete deck. The last two events I had I really relied on the seeded back.
Also, slightly less cards. Boooo!
I think I actually prefer the change overall, though.
I may not be all that familiar with the world of Lorywn, but I do know enough to recognize that this thing is simply oozing with flavor◊.
