[up]He won't be. He'd need to kow everything about Voban first, and it seems that nobody knows everything about Voban except Voban himself.

No, and that's one of the points of the series: you kill it you bought it. I don't think Mariya has the hax to duplicate the very Osiris Voban killed

From the trope page:

Even if they die, gods will eventually revive if enough people know their story.
Dang, I forgot the limitation for the Golden Sword.

Eh, never mind. Godou still has a giant boar to throw.

No, the other one.
If it was about eating the sun, I'd have guessed Sköll, who's Fenrir's son. Sköll was the one chasing Sol in Norse Mythology, and definitely had the ability to eat the sun (he did at Ragnarök). Whether Fenrir had that ability as well depends on interpretation, since it's ambiguous in the actual texts, due to quirks in the language.

Say, anyone read the light novel here? What happened to the original Campione, Kratos? xD

I'm always down for a series with attention to detail on mythology. It's like they crossed Shirou with a SMT hero.

Since this is probably a one course anime, the farthest they'll get is the fourth volume of the novels, huh...

[up] cour, not course. I think its French in origin, which isn't surprising since there were a lot of Franco-Japanese co-productions back in the day.
Welcome to the Sea of Chaos
I meant to type season either way.

You know, it occurs to me; would the Lovecraft Gods fit into this kind of story at all? Their existence is based on mortal views of them even more than others.

Once again, the episode previews make me laugh really hard from the honesty.

Me Too.

And the mythological stuff this ep… not really up to the standard they set with Athena, if you ask me.

Actually, I enjoyed the mythology in this ep a bit more than with Athena. You never see that side of Apollo explored in popular culture.

Great episode.

Erica was awesome, trolling Liliana in the middle of a battle. [lol]

She really is the best thing about this show.

The mythological aspects of the fight wasn't as interesting as with Athena, but the choreography was better. Especially when Godou surrounded himself with a whirlwind of golden swords.

As always, no fight could be complete without some landmark being destroyed.

So yeah, probably best episode since fight with Athena.

Next episode the beach! Oh man. cool

Really? Have to say I might actively dislike this show after this episode. The characters are kind of annoying.

Especially after what Erica pulled with Mariya this episode. Not to say that Mariya isn't annoying herself though.

I found the dialogue to be really tired too. Seems to be just me though.

My favourite part is of course defeating the enemy through revealing their origins. One of the most verbose direct attacks I have seen. The trump card still being an actual trump card was nice though. Even the ex-were-vampire had pause at that.

Erica is really a person you should never trust, but at least she's honest in her intentions, which goes a long way of making up for it.

I'm curious as to how everything would be played out if the genders were reversed... Often, especially in harem series, someone as forward as Erica is only really accepted if it's a girl.

We already have an example of would happen if a guy were as forward as Erica, he's called Makoto Itou. evil grin

Seriously, though, people would either hate it of love it. In Erica's case, probably love it.

Makoto wants to have several girls at once, which isn't really what Erica is aiming for. And people seem to only hate him and think he deserves what he got. But did he ever do more than cheat on them? That's not really worthy of death, and pretty much everyone else in the series is even worse... Enough about that, though.

I'm not sure I've actually seen a guy who's that forward about a relationship, other than gag-characters, like that guy in Kira-Kira, or Tatewaki Kuno.Usually they're just perverts, though, which while it does include Erica, isn't just what she is. Or it's a Pervert With A Heart Of Gold, if it is the main character, like Issei of High School Dx D or Ryosuke of Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai.

Or maybe I'm just forgetting about them right now...

Or maybe Godou will get used to it and say: Aw what the heck, girls look good around me and make me look good. Big deal.

Who IS the last haremette with the black sword?
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...
[up]We won't see her until the last few episodes. Ena is another Hime-Miko like Mariya. She's sent because of concerns that Mariya isn't doing a good enough job of seducing Godou. Something of a troll like Erica, she's the most mistress-like girl in the harem

Good episode. Erica, and the fact that every battle inevitably involves a make-out, really continues to be the selling point of the show.

Overall, I'd say the adaption is doing alright. The first two episodes where rather weak, but as long as it's sticking to the part of the story that's mostly chronological, it's doing a good job of covering the important bits from the LN.

Episode 7: Awesome. Erica's victory against Lily was hilarious. The Campione fight was basically a narration plus spells back-and-forth but it still felt like an epic fight, thanks to the soundtrack and the narration itself actually making sense as it's needed for Godou's Authority. Though it did have some noteworthy scenes like Godou charging while a whirlwind of golden swords enveloped him. Damn.

Speaking of his Authority, I liked how his Golden Sword did some major damage but ultimately wasn't enough to off the enemy, forcing him to rely on his other avatars. Good, good, that trend should continue.

Mariya has also kissed Godou, so I guess it's Lily's turn next time? Or maybe not. I dunno. By the way, how else are you supposed to inject magic directly? Syringes? XD The harem antics actually managed to make me crack a smile, so that's a plus.

The next episode preview was full of win.

Episode 8.

This doesn't look good...

Now I'm starting to dislike Mariya. Or possible the author. Those Pervert Revenge Mode moments cross the line for me, more than what line Eric crossed just before that.

Lily was funny; the way she dug herself deeper and deeper before she found out why it was a bad idea. And I certainly don't mind the return of a small goddess and a certain tease.

Moriya is a dumb character.

Needs more Adult Athena. It's not like going around as a kid makes her any less conspicuous, what with that whole godly aura.
