A more benign question about ads:
The 11th GroverDo we know what the relationship to follows from ads contributes to how much the site gets? I ask because I discovered that one of the ads that came up (which I gave a click to) is actually for the company that makes the wet food that I feed my kittens. I end up buying their product anyways; if I can help the wiki by buying lamb and beef pate for kittens, I'm all for that. As a side note... man, beef and lamb pate? Twice daily? These kittens eat better than I do.
The 11th GroverIt was technically an ad for puppy food, since puppies were all in the imagery. But I've bought enough food for my kittens to recognize the name on sight, and I'm sure that buying kitten food would work just as well for "32_Footsteps bought something after following an ad for Nutro on TV Tropes" purposes.
If you buy from a site after a click-through from an ad, there is a chance the advertiser will notice, boosting the quality of the ad in their perception. They may set their bids higher for the advertising site. Or they may pat their ad agency on the back for an effective ad. Hard to say.
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
