Back button isn't working:
Cogito Gratia CogitanNothing's happening when I hit Alt+Left. I don't know if the problem's on my end or not, but when I mouse over the Back button in my browser it says (in this case) "Back to http://view.atdmt.com/COM/iview/388519358/direct;wi.160;hi.600/01?click=http://va.px.invitemedia.com/pixel?returnType=redirect (Alt+Left)." I just screenshot it and typed the whole thing up from an image, so I'm hoping it wasn't five minutes wasted for nothing. EDIT: Just opened another tab to check it with another site, and it worked. Came back here, hit Alt+Left, and all of a sudden it's working again. Go figure. EDIT 2: Tried it again right after editing this; didn't work. This is freakin' annoying.

Cogito Gratia CogitanI thought it was either Plum Card or Norton, but now it's not working and the only ads I see are AT&T, eBay, and Ford. AT&T was up when it messed up a minute ago, but I went on my watchlist and saw it and Alt+Left worked. :/ I'm not sure. I'll keep looking.
Cogito Gratia CogitanBut I keep hitting Alt+Left, and I keep staying on the same page. I'm pretty sure it's AT&T now, by the way. I go back, see that ad, and can't go forward. Also, I don't see anything weird in my History thing.

Cogito Gratia CogitanI think it's a specific AT&T ad that's doing it; the "What's better than a free phone" Free Packages one. Except now a different one's doing it. The problem is definitely AT&T, though.

Cogito Gratia CogitanThe hell? It just happened again, and there wasn't even an AT&T ad on the page; none of the ads on the page were ones I'd seen earlier.
Try hitting the back button twice consecutively if doing so once doesn't work.
RememberThat does nothing to solve the issue though.
Run, you clever boy.
Cogito Gratia CogitanI hit it about ten times, right-clicked the Back button (which I didn't know I could do until today) and tried to work my way back down the list, gave up, and just clicked the watchlist button. It isn't debilitating; just freakin' annoying.
Cogito Gratia CogitanStill happening, by the way. I think AT&T ads are the only ads showing up now. Okay, they aren't; I'm just seeing three of the same ad on this post's page. This is really freaky. Somebody is trolling me. Somebody is putting fucking glitch ads all over my screen. Fuck your ass, AT&T. Wait, it could be a competitor doing it.

RememberHave you tried uninstalling-reinstalling your browser or trying a different browser?
Run, you clever boy.
Cogito Gratia Cogitan...No. I have not. On my iPod and not home right now, anyway.
Cogito Gratia CogitanStill broken. How much of a hassle is that uninstall-reinstall thing? I don't have to get all the cookies and Favorite links and things sorted out again, do I?
RememberI'd try a different browser first, say, Opera, Firefox, or Chrome, to see if the issue carries over to other browsers. If it doesn't, then it's probably an issue with the browser you're using. If it does, then it's more likely some sort of virus or malware.
Run, you clever boy.
Cogito Gratia CogitanIt's only affecting me on TV Tropes, and only when AT&T ads are present (which is nearly constant now, probably because the adserver noticed that I've been complaining about them for a day and a half). I just posted in the thread Fighteer mentioned above, though, so hopefully they'll disappear before too long.
Just to chime in, I've been having this happen to me too, and only on TV Tropes. Also, I can confirm it's definitely the At&T ad. This looks like something to check out. According to this article on The Other Wiki, the cookie is distributed by a subsidiary of Microsoft, so hopefully it isn't too malicious, but it's still frustrating.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
