How do we clean up Deadpan Snarker?:
Deadpan Snarker It's become increasingly apparent that this trope is prone to misuse, both on that trope's example lists and on that trope's entries on works' trope lists. I was just in another thread where I was discussing the misuse of Deadpan Snarker on the characters pages of one particular show, and very literally one of the most obvious non-examples (Fluttershy) was listed as an example. Even Complete Monster doesn't seem to have that level of misuse. I was wondering exactly how we should go about cleaning this one up. I get the impression that part of the problem is that the "use one quotation as a sample of their snark" approach gets misinterpreted as "use one quotation as evidence of their snark" when obviously a trope that implies a pattern cannot be proven by one example. I think we can do without snark samples if it helps avoid giving the wrong impression. Even avoiding causing more of this misunderstanding might not cut it, though, since the wrong impression has already been given, and misuse can become quite entrenched. Enough bad examples and people judging the trope from the examples get the wrong impression about what it is; we saw that with Complete Monster and I think a similar problem is going on here. So how do we go about cleaning it up? Discussing the examples one-by-one like with CM? Scrapping all or most of the examples (and maybe crosswicked entries) so as to have a clean slate to work with? Scrapping the trope itself altogether and starting over? Anything else?

With Mod Hat OnAs Septimus said rather concisely, it must first be decided if there is in fact a problem. That's a TRS matter.
I have a blog. (That updates sometimes.)
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
