White High Schooler Returns Scholarship Intended for Black Student:
Indiana SoloArticle here. Basically, there was a scholarship for blacks only. I've seen others too, and It bothers me that I'm disqualified from them just because my ancestors happened to live on a boot-shaped piece of land instead of in Africa. This just rubs me the wrong way, and I wanted to see what others thought of it. I'd understand if this was decades ago, when there was discrimination so that all could get a scholarship of some kind, but that is not today. Wasn't the whole point of the civil rights movement Equality? To quote MLK, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." What's happened to that? Please, PLEASE keep this civil. We don't need ranting, and we do NOT need Racism.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
