Name changes? As in...?
Forum name changes? Character name changes? Actual legal name changes?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."All of the above.
Yep, I'm still here. One of my favorite teachers changed her last name to an astronomical body.
Occasionally I've wanted to change my name to something cool. But I can be amazingly possessive, my name was the first thing that was mine. I'm not giving it away.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimI don't really see a need for them. I mean unless you just hate your family that much, or you're a singer or something (even then I think it's weird when they legally change their name to their stage name). I can't imagine changing my name, even though it was given to me by my father, who I don't really get along with.
@Chihuahua: Did she have an astronomical body?
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianI look forward to having my name changed. I am still trying to get the spelling of my first name cleaned up and matched on all my legal documents.
"Psssh. Even if you could catch a miracle on a picture any person would probably delete it to make space for more porn." - AszurMy dad works with a guy who legally changed his name to "Head Bubba."

This is not for trope names.
First, this is an old thread.
Second, read this. And it's not because I wrote that.
I've considered changing my name before.
I wouldn't do it even though my name(Kevin) is THE white-trash name for boys in Germany.

If you mean characters in a japanese cartoons having different names in the dub, well it's good. With the Pokèmon ones i usually refer to them by the English name, or even by the japanese ones sometimes. I'm from Italy but i was very "americanized" and often in English-language forums by the time Black\White came out. It's the same for The Sims, but there they did not translate the names, or well, they did translate them, but only for the ones introduced in TS 1 and TS 2. This is because the TS 1 families had descriptive surnames. (There's an household of childhood acquaintances known as Chris and Melissa Roomies but in the console version they're Chris Jones and Melissa Smith) Sims introduced in TS 3 never had dub name changes. Or at least, not in the italian version. And you do not need dub names anyway. Kingdom Hearts and Total Drama Island do not use dub names. For Sailor Moon i also like to refer to their "casual" forms by the names they have in the japanese version.
And if you mean someone in real life changing their names to something from a fandom or something else, i'm okay with it too. A lot of people change their names when they enter high school, mostly hipsters actually. Someone has any news reports of people changing their names to fictional characters?
Fighting Susan Wainwright obsession in the former Soviet Union alongside Elektra Melidze and Daryllis TishanevActually, the Total Drama series does use dub names. I know some of the names are changed in the French Canadian dub, IDK about other ones.
I don’t even know anymore.Pretty much with Parable on this one.
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter
I have talked about this before.
How do you feel about name changes. localization or otherwise?
Are you annoyed by them, fond of them, or just indifferent?
Yep, I'm still here.
