A chill came over the section of the academy the demon had attacked, and a bizarre lifeforce, twisted and corrupt, appeared besides the corpse of the demon.
Briefly, a figure looked down at the remains of the birdlike demon. For a few seconds, it didn't move, merely staring at the lifeless heap. Then, cautiously, the figure bent down and touched the demon.
A cold breeze rippled through a small area, passing straight through the walls. After a moment of nothing else happening, black. horns replaced the ones that had vanished They were made of many small tendrils of shadow, and the injuries the demon had suffered elsewhere were also covered by these. Larger ones burst from the skin seconds later, wrapping around the smaller ones and squeezing together. When all was done, the injuries and the horns were solid black, not even shining in the moonlight.
The creature paused to look down on the demon, but it showed no sign of waking up, merely groaning slightly. Even the black marks were changing, becoming like the wounded areas were before the injury had happened.
Nodding slightly, the figure touched the demon again, vanishing completely within seconds. The cold feeling's range shrunk, eventually disappearing into the demon. With that, all was again still in the room.
