Sounds interesting.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I hope Young Justice doesn't get affected by this.
All of time and space, anywhere and everywhere, any star that ever was. Where do you want to start? It's supposed to be a series of shorts, isn't it? I don't think this will affect that at all. Besides, there have been public plans for this for month.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. The episodes are 22 minutes long. How is that a short? Unless each episode contains two.
I hope Super Best Friends Forever gets the same treatment.
With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.Well, I certainly wasn't expecting this, but I can't say I'm not happy about it! The only thing that bothers me is that the press release focuses almost entirely on the comedy, when one of the things I loved about the initial run of "Titans" was the way it managed to bounce back and forth between comedy, action, and some pretty intense darkness.
Of course, if they get Ron Perlman back as Slade, I'll forgive just about anything. Fingers crossed!
''All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us..."This is nice and all, but honestly I just wish they would reboot the old series (Maybe tie up some loose ends after that cliffhanger). Part of the reason I loved that show so much was because of both the hilarious, sometimes surreal humor, and serious action-driven heroism. If the show would have just been humor, I'm not sure I would have liked it so much... And I really dislike the fact that they're making them all chibis, it just looks weird. Again, this is definitely better than nothing. Here's hoping that after popular demand, they'll return the series to its former glory!
Wherever you are, you're always there.^ They wouldn't do that, because Young Justice already covers the "teen heroes adventure heroism" angle, and in fact shares several characters. Since they're not going to have two shows doing the same thing in a single lineup, they redid Teen Titans into being entirely comedic - which is fine by me, though I wish they were using the non-chibi designs. I get the feeling that'd make it even funnier.
I doubt it's going to get a full reboot any time soon. In fact, I'm not even sure if this half-reboot is necessary.
But meh, squeaky wheels or something I suppose.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. You know, it'd be great if this and Young Justice began taking friendly shots and jabs at each other.
I think the reason the press releases focus on comedy may be that these non-shorts will be more focused on comedy.
Preferred the DC Nation Designs

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpI'd rather have the old show back, when it had decent art.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Yeah, late game for the old show looked pretty great. I understand why they would use a comedy based Teen Titans, but I'm half sure most people would just rather have Teen Titans as it was.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI think they're trying to attract new fans too though.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. Its the same crowd that would watch it, though. Same demographic, at least.
I'm probably taking it the wrong way, but I fear it'll lose what made Teen Titans great.
Teen Titans was both lighthearted and compelling. It had the humor, but it was able to take itself seriously when it needed to.
Ultimately, I'll just have to wait and see the show before I can really say anything.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireOkay, maybe the reason they're not doing a full reboot is because of Young Justice covering the whole "teenage superheros with seriousness" thing, but (and now I'm just ranting here) I honestly wish they'd get rid of Young Justice and reboot Teen Titans. The episodes since its debut has been as good as "meh", but most of them were downright crappy. The animation is stale and the voice acting is unconvincing.
Wherever you are, you're always there.Ah yes, and that reminds me. They probably are trying to attract new fans by making it super-friendly and whatnot. But what's wrong in this reboot is that the producers apparently failed to understand their demographic. Back when the show was still running, it was indeed originally meant for younger children, but with the later seasons came viewers who were somewhat older. After the show was cancelled the popularity somehow surged, (and so the the show entered the rerun stage), but the main demographic was an older one than what the producers expected. Either they just didn't know this (which is rather ridiculous) or they think that they would get more profits via new viewers than old fans.
Wherever you are, you're always there. Not to judge a show on a single promo image, but I'm not too keen on the redesigns. If they're bringing the show back, why redesign? Well, I guess they did the same thing with Batman The Animated Series, but that was to make it in line with Superman The Animated Series' art style.
I was kinda hoping Super Best Friends Forever or Plastic Man would be the short series that gets expanded, but oh well. I guess Teen Titans fans got what they wanted.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!I personally fee there's room for Young Justice and the original Teen Titans. Comic books played straight and a lighthearted approach to the same material are incredibly different in execution.
Feh. I'm trying not to work myself up before I see more, but its getting hard not to.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireMake Super Best Friends Forever and Plasticman as shows! I demand you!

You have *no* idea how utterly clueless DC Comics is regarding the audience of their own characters. With the comics its the reverse, they seem to think only adults who want sex and violence buy them now. They pretty much abandoned their old fans with the recent reboot.

After watching the shorts a little more, I honestly wouldn't mind a more comedy oriented TT.

GOH! JII! RAH!I remember watching the original series, and from what I remember, although it had it's silly moments, it was actually a rather well written series. I think making it strictly comedy would strip a good deal of what made the show interesting to me.
I see Cyborg was invoking Colonel Campbell at the end. It was funny, but it didn't feel the same.
"Pancakes. Oh, I blew it." - Joel Hodgson Nobody better lay a Butterfinger on my 3DS!Basically, the original series had three kinds of episodes (four if you count arc-based ones as a seperate type)- the "normal" episodes were pretty much a combination of character-based humor and action, the completely silly ones where the Rule of Funny was king and common sense took a vacation, and the dark ones that tended to be very intense and character driven, with little humor. The revival, assuming the press release is completely accurate, looks like it will be mostly the second type a probably some of the first, with little of the latter, which is my main apprehension. The original run's strength was its range, being able to do dark, silly, and in-between while still feeling like the same show, and I'm afraid just being silly would lose something.
However, to expand a point I made earlier, if there's at least one serious episode with Ron Perlman as Slade, I'll forgive a lot. If there's that and an ongoing story, light or serious, that finally gives Starfire the spotlight she missed out on, then I'll forgive everything.

FUCK. YES.
