A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.

The premise sounds very Justice Lords-y at first blush.

I wonder if this is supposed to be in continuity with the Arkham Asylum games.

Hey, it says Wii U! Hope it's good. I may end up getting it. Mostly because of Solomon Grundy, there. :P

[up] Doubtful, seeing as they're not even made by the same people.

Wasn't AA made by Time-Warner?

Time-Warner is not a video game developer. They're the parent company of Warner Bros. who are also not video game developers. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are publishers. Arkham Asylum was developed by Rocksteady Studios, who are owned by Warner Bros. Netherrealm is also owned by Warner Bros. But they are not the same thing.

Don't know about you guys, but Batman kicking Grundy through a building was pretty awesome IMO.

From battle stems rivalries. From rivalries stems respect. From respect stems friendship.

...And friendship is the greatest magic of all.

By the way, who was the chick with the guns?

I guess I should have noticed when I saw Joker card scattered about. Was Wonder Woman holding a knife to her throat?

(also, how in the world did Bats kick Grundy up and out through the roof of a building?)

Game Spot has an exclusive on the trailer, so all of the YouTube vids have been pulled.

I posted the vid on Strategy Informer here.

Was Wonder Woman holding a knife to her throat?

The Sword of Hephaestes, I'd imagine.

Clearly he had a rocket/spring powered sole on his boot, for just such a situation.

The Final ECW Champion
Because they're last DC game was so good? DC should go to Yukes and or THQ, everyone loved WWF No Mercy and they could look to In Your House Challenge on the Super Nintendo if they want a template that already has superpowers in it.

Future crossovers, if not the obvious Marvel, should still be against anything else but Mortal Kombat. WWE because everyone compares John Cena to Superman, a Wrestling Game could lead into that. In "traditional" fighting games, SNK makes stuff more fitting. Midway did Rampage, Biofreaks, Mortal Kombat, games known more for audacity than polish. If Warner Bros is intent on continuing to mix these two parties it should stick to the Watchmen and Vertigo guys like Swamp Thing, Sandman, John Constantine or the Saint of Killers, not Superman-Wonder Woman-Flash.

...What the brown?
This looks really interesting. The character designs for Supes and Flash are a little too armory for the characters IMO, but I'll be watching this. Now gimme dat Deathstroke, Green Lantern, and Nightwing! Also, I wonder if Joker will show up since they've given Harley Quinn a presumably big role.
Legendary Outlaw? ...Forget it.
[up][up] Considering how much better the latest Mortal Kombat was than the last few before it, I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt.

Also, they made Solomon Grundy a playable character! That is just too cool!

[up] x4 Prep time works wonders, right? tongue

Also, there is no way Flash will be walking out of Superman uppercutting him into the stratosphere and then hammer punching him back down without a few broken ribs at the least (I'd say he'd die from the impact, but as Black Vion astutely said, vidya gaemz).

Wow, I did not anticipate being this excited for something we know barely anything about, but I am really looking forward to this, now. I think it's a combination of how well Mortal Kombat 9 turned out, actually being on a system I'll have, and Solomon Grundy's inclusion paving the way for some more unorthodox character choices (how cool would it be for Booster Gold to be in, for example).

Nothing against the guy (loved him on JLU and BTBAB), but does Booster Gold really strike you as pseudo-Justice Lord material?

[up] No idea what a Justice Lord is, or why this is pseudo-that, but if you're looking for a sufficiently large roster for a DC Comics fighting game, you're going to need to dip into some B-list heroes.

It's from an episode of Justice League ("A Better World") where the Flash died in an alternate universe, leading to a chain of events beginning with Superman killing President Lex Luthor (vis heat vision) where the League became murderous Knight Templars. For some reason, Injustice gives me vibes from that show.

Ah.

Well, look at it this way: How many A-list heroes does DC actually have? Supes, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (while we're at it, let's have a Lantern other than Hal Jordan in this one), the Flash, and...that's pretty much what you'll get out of your average non-comic fan. Sure, you can throw in Martian Manhunter, maybe Aquaman, if you're using him as the punchline of a joke, and after next year (when he'll have a television show) Green Arrow.

But let's get crazy! Let's throw in some Booster Gold, some Blue Beetle, some Lobo. etc. This is a huge opportunity to make people aware of these characters.

He is far from a joke now.

[up] To comic fans, perhaps. I'm talking about going out on the street and talking to your typical 30-something, who know Aquaman as "the guy who can talk to fish, right?".
