Yeah, that would make sense for that trope...if that's the case, it's a decent enough suggestion.

It's pretty clear that Cool Board lacks an image, and this is pretty good. Better than no image, in any case, so...

The only possible thing that I could think of as competition are the hoverboards from the original Thundercats cartoon, and good pics of them may not be available.

I'm tempted to suggest this dinky little thing◊ from Back To The Future Part II (or maybe a Photoshop◊ that makes it look more extreme). Sure, it's a pink girl's toy, technically; but it's a goddamn hoverboard. (Which we should have in 3 years, apparently.)

It doesn't work on water, though, you bojo. (Unless you've got POOOOWAAAAAAH!) In which case, you could try Griff Tannen's Pit Bull◊... not a great shot, but the board's visible, is being ridden, is hovering, is cool, and works on water.

Well, nothing good from the original cartoon came up, but this◊, from the new version, is good.

Don't forget that Hover Board is its own trope.

Oh, and I forgot to add that I like the OP's suggestion for Cool Board.
