Clash of the Elements:
Definitely Not-SayakaThis is rather big Mario fanfic that I have already started making a trope page for here. I feel that it Needs More Love which is why I'm posting a topic in here. The author is currently on Chapter 20 of the 2nd Part of his story, and though I think discussion is welcome for the entire story thus far I would recommend people start from the beginning: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7538101/1/Clash_of_the_Elements_Part_1_A_Flame_Reborn Though I will give a warning that there is a bit of Early-Installment Weirdness found in the early chapters, I think there should be enough here to interest any fellow fic readers. Either way, I'll be updating this topic every time a new chapter is posted, with a spoiler tag detailing a brief outlining of my thoughts on each one.
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 21 just came out a half-hour ago: Looks like this Part is entering the last arc, and it is nice to see Mario's problems with Alpha being addressed. Hope the author goes further with this in the coming chapters, though I do wonder where they are heading off too...
Nanako The NarcfaceOh, it seems there's already a tropes page for Clash of the Elements. Nevermind.

"An MMORPG without a logout button? That's a bold decision, man!"
Definitely Not-SayakaIt's alright, mistakes happen.
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 22: Actually, on second thought, it would be better just to check out the Wham Episode entry I just set up on the Fic's page to see what I thought of this one.

Definitely Not-SayakaI just realized that the reason this topic doesn't have many posts is because it'll take some people a long time to catch up on the whole story...Either way, new chapter up: Chapter 23: Holy crap, that battle between Alpha and Mario, no matter how short it was, was honestly really interesting. It was also nice to get some clarification on his secrecy, and I hope Alpha's character develops from this. Cackletta is just around the corner at this point...
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 24: Huh...So Fawful was The Mole for Alpha...I don't really know how I feel about that honestly. The more interesting part of this chapter was that apparently, in this universe, Radiant Garden was consumed by the Heartless. Wonder what this is leading up to...
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 25: Holy Shit Ansem's Study. Holy SHIT A Kingdom Hearts on fire. HOLY SHIT THE ROOM OF REMEMBRANCE. And according to Cackletta's story, the Kingdom Hearts universe is never going to return in this continuity, meaning that Sora, Riku, and all the other characters are forever dead without hope ever being restored. That...Kind of sucks. Though from the sounds of things, someone is alive and is now one of the "higher-ups" that Geno spoke of in Part 1. This was an incredible chapter, now for speculation.
Definitely Not-SayakaIs anyone on this forum reading this besides me?
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 26: Cackletta certainly had a HUGE Xanatos Roulette going, but I think her not knowing about Fawful's allegiance is going to be her downfall in some way...Also was a nice fight after all was said and done.
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 27: Goddamn Cackletta is a monster, especially considering she was the Shadow Queen. Also, pretty interesting discussion on the Character Alignment system, and it looks like we are nearing the end of the fight now.
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 28: Wow, that was one crazy ass Hannibal Lecture from Cackletta, but the Shut Up, Hannibal! from both Mario and Alpha was even more awesome, and that's not even getting into the Senki Soni Final Style! This was the best chapter of the series by far, and it seems as though the battle is finally at an end.
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 29: Well, Cackletta is finally gone for good. Got to admit, this was a rather original way of getting around her 'Second Life' spell. Props to the writer for coming up with it. Also, oh shit...The Dark Star just performed a Hijackedby Ganon here...
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 30: For the few pages he was on, I liked Captain Florence, though now seems like the worst time to introduce a new character all things considered...The Dark Star is still a monster, that's not exactly a good thing. Though damn, Bowser is pulling yet another Big Damn Heroes moment, and it was nice to see an explanation on Geno's absence.
Definitely Not-SayakaLooks like the fic is going to go on hiatus for a bit, so this would be a good time for anyone who cares (Which is probably no one besides me honestly) to catch up. Chapter 31: Bowser is awesome, he honestly keeps showing how boss he is throughout this fic. Also, Alex gets brownie points for his Character Development here, so good on him. Now the final fight...Maybe, BEGINS!
Definitely Not-SayakaAnd it is back for today, but why would anyone but the author or me care, right? Chapter 32: So Cackletta made sure to avert the Logic Bomb defeat for her Alex Whiter clone. Genre Savvy on her part, very nice. And it looks like the Seven Deadly Sins are going to be matched up to each of Alex's elemental forms. Gluttony for Grass is the first on the list...
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 33: Such a shame that the Sin version of the Genesis Samurais are probably going to be one off characters. Darnia's evil half brought up some interesting questions about their fabricated existences, especially that of Alex's clone, who seems to just have no clue what he is even doing at this point... So so far we got: Gluttony=Grass; Pride=Earth; Envy=Sky ;Greed=Electricity Obviously Wrath will go with Fire, so that leaves Sloth with I guess Ice and Lust with Water. Though I got to question the authors choices here as far as matching sins with the elements goes...

Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 34: Looks like I was right about the remaining sins, but not like it was too hard of an endeavor anyways...And goddamn it Cackletta, can't you just stay dead already?! Either way, now the final phase of the battle has begun well.
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 35: So "Chaos Alex" isn't as stoic as I originally thought he was. One Berserk Button pressed and he unleashed hell. This is honestly one time I'm GLAD Cackletta was around to stop him.
Definitely Not-SayakaChapter 36: Geez, this was a really good chapter. From the way Alex figured out how to deal with his clone's ultimate attack to his memories of the others, to the last line acknowledging his parent's names as the password to the glove. Looks like the next chapter is the last one for this Part.
Definitely Not-SayakaFinal Chapter: ...Wow. Alex Whiter died to take down his counterpart...And it ends with that revelation...That's, that's pretty horrible honestly... Epilogue: Hmm...And then we got this Epilogue, which seems to show that someone has picked up Alex's glove. Could it be him? Could it be Alpha? Maybe it is some other mysterious person... Also, seems the author ran a Word of God thing after the epilogue that detailed his thoughts and explained a few other issues. Got to say, it was very nice to read. Either way, guess with Part 2 done now would be a good time for anyone to catch up since the author stated that it'll be a month until Part 3. In the mean time, I'll be updating the trope page.
Definitely Not-SayakaAnd now the Extra chapter is out. So Alpha is looking to kill Alex...Who might still be alive? Or something else...Geez, this chapter was honestly a bit confusing.
Definitely Not-SayakaGonna keep bumping this every couple days until there is new content or Part 3 begins.
Definitely Not-SayakaRemembrances of Alex Whiter (A short story after Part 2): That was a sweet if short memorial thing for Alex, but it might be worthless because Alex isn't alive. Now we got this confusing mess of obvious Foreshadowing that we will have to wait and see as to how it pays off...
