My Little Pony D10 Game

Silly Hooves opens the door with a bow and waits for everyone to leave before following behind. On the way to Star Shine's house he remembers a song about endless roads and starts humming the tune to himself, his head bobbing in time with the tune.

Is anything going to happen to us on the way there, or can we just skip to when we get to the building's entrance?

Yeah, it's close, so I won't throw in another encounter.

Alright.

After a bit of walking, the group arrives in front of Miss Star Shine's house.

Silly Hooves clears his throat politely and steps up to the door. He looks back at his companions and says, "We must handle this situation with the utmost care. Luckily this is just what my line of work requires."

Silly Hooves starts banging on the door and yells out, "Ms. Star Shine if you have a moment we need to talk to you about matters of great import. We will not leave until you talk to us." He looks back and grins happily before adding. "Diplomacy at its finest gentleponies."

Crystal hitched herself to her cart and tagged along behind the others. She left to park the cart where it wouldn't be too much of an obstruction, then joined the others at the door.

What Silly Hooves did next caused her to press her hoof against her forehead. She muttered to herself, "If this is what they call diplomacy, I fear for the future of Equestian foreign relations."

More audibly, she said, "You're going to scare her off like that, you know. What don't you let me talk to her instead?"

Silly Hooves looks at Crystal in surprise. "You don't happen to know a pony by the name of Stern Warning do you? He says the exact same thing. By the way I don't think we've been introduced I'm Silly Hooves, Equestrian Diplomatic Corps. Your servant Madam." He takes off his hat and bows.

"Crystal Carver," she said, nodding. "Artisan and traveling merchant."

"A pleasure Ms. Carver." He puts his hat back on and twists it from side to side to make sure it stays on.

"Now about handling Ms. Star Shine. You're free to handle her as you see fit provided I'm free to go about unhindered in executing things as I see fit. Yes?"

Silly Hooves looks up at the sky and hums to himself.

Crystal just shrugged and took a step back. "Have it your way..."

With a satisfied nod of his head Silly Hooves smiles at Crystal.

"Very good then lets shake on it and we are agreed."

He raises his right forehoof, spits on it, and holds it out.

While we wait, I go around the house to see if anything interesting is visible through the windows.

Do I need to make an investigation check?

I'm giving some time for Kegi to join in before I have Star Shine open the door.

Crystal looked back and forth between the saliva-stained hoof and its owner. In the interest of not getting in too big of a quarrel with someone she'd just met, she accepted the hoofshake, but elected not to add her own spit.

When we get inside, can I do an inconspicuous Appraise roll on Star Shine's stuff? You know, to check if anything specific stands out?

Ballad had been laying lazily atop a cloud, drifting wherever the wind blew him, when he heard a commotion from down below. Rolling onto his stomach he had spotted a small group of ponies mulling around. To his eager mind it looked like the makings of a party - and having nothing better to do, he decided that he would be invited. With a tired flick of his wings he sent the cloud drifting downwards until he was about a story above the group of ponies - just barely clearing the house they all stood in front of.

"Well, hello there ponies one and all!" He called out to them. "What brings you all together on this fine merry day? Do I smell revelry a-brewin'?"

It was an affectation of speech, but one that he had practiced thoroughly, and it came to him almost as naturally as his true means of speech. Certainly, it was good for introductions.

Should I be doing a skill check for any of that? Still trying to flesh out what exactly constitutes a check or not in an actual RPG.

@kegi From what we've been going on, my guess is, if you'd have to make a check for anything, it would be flying down, but I don't think so.

"Unfortunately not," replied Clouds, "we're here because the mayor was kidnapped and we wanted to see if we could get some information from Miss Star Shine."

"Kidnapped mayor, you say?" Ballad asked. "Well, that doesn't sound like any sort of party at all." He shrugged idly, leaning over his cloud. "Sounds like there's a bit of a story to tell, though. Not that I'd know, me; I just blew into town myself." He smiled wryly, gesturing to the expanse of open air behind him.

@Story: You do get the bonus.

@Kegi: You're not really trying anything difficult, so no checks needed.

Story: The houe is well furnished with a lot of expensive furniture. It appears to have be in the process of redecoration.

The door glows and slowly opens. The head of a white unicorn witha red mane peeps out. " Hello? Who are you? Are you with the press? If so, I'm not talking to you at the moment."

"Oh, no ma'am. We're not with the press." answered Clouds "We were sent here by Miss Key Board and want to help Mayor Desk Job."

Clouds is probably going to get Silly Hooves angry at him for not letting him talk. :P

She opens the door. Her cutie mark is a pair of masks. One is smiling. The other is sad.

" Why does Desk need help? Is he all right?" She seems concerned fo a second then returns to a stoic expression.

"Well, just a while ago, a dragon took the roof off of Town Hall and took him away."
