Suggestion: Self Demonstrating Article get usage counts

The current one is pretty much just text, save for the highlighting of the misused word and a circle around the headline. It pretty much may as well be a page quotation instead.

I recommend switching to the following from Family Guy.
"I even like the idea of a nice man who sees me when I'm sleeping and knows when I'm awake. And that man is Barack Obama." - Bill Maher

[up] The current's good, but I think I like that a little better.
Anyone else want to weigh in on this?

Gentleman Troper!
I prefer the current. Since the trope is about articles, having an illustration of an article seems fine to me.
Special trousers. Very heroic.
I like both equally, which means to keep the current, since the suggestion is not an improvement.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.

[up][up] I agree.
   Evil is my favorite color.
[up][up][up] If we're to interpret "article" in that sense, this may as well not have an image at all, since what we have there is not really an image. It's a quotation in an image's place.

[up][up] How is it not an improvement? The current image, as I already pointed out, is pretty much just text, and the visual elements add little. It may as well be a quotation.

The Family Guy one, on the other hand, shows visually that it's graffiti written in graffiti, in a way much more similar to our own Self Demonstrating Articles.

Actually, I think the current one is more along the lines of I Resemble That Remark than this trope.

It's about articles, and those are written, so this is one case where I don't mind text. It's also closer to how the self-demonstrating articles are actually written in terms of humour. I Resemble That Remark is a form of self-demonstration, and I don't think there's risk for confusion.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.
[up] But I Resemble That Remark is more often associated with mistakes, which is obviously what that article is one of.

Actually, perhaps that may not have been the best trope to link to, as it implies that denying something proves the point. The article is not trying to deny that a lot of people hate math; and even if it was, the article writer as an individual obviously not being that good at math wouldn't prove it. But that only drives home the point that the example in the pic isn't exactly self-demonstrating. On top of that, there's little reason for it to be an image instead of a quotation. It's just arbitrary that it's in image form.

I still think that the Family Guy image is fitting; it's still writing, just in a different form; but given the choice between imageless or having the current image, I'd go for imageless.

Ahum. The Family Guy pic is all colourful and that, but IMHO it really doesn't beat an image of a self-demonstrative article.
before the darkness arrives
It is not just text. It is text in a newspaper article. That wouldn't be obvious in a quote.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel.
Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
[up][up] That would be like taking a screenshot of another TV Tropes article to demonstrate it.

[up] No, the line under the quoted excerpt cites what it's from. It could say something along the lines of "from the newspaper [insert newspaper name here]."

EDITED IN: Actually, that would be more indicative than the current one, since the current one looks like it could be a screenshot from some web page with a faux-newspaper background, and it doesn't say what newspaper it is. At least the line under the quoted excerpt could link to the webpage we got it from.

Saying "this is from a newspaper" is weaker than showing an image of "this, in a newspaper". Show, don't tell.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel.
Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
[up] Except that it's not proven that it really is from a newspaper, and viewers just have to take our word for it. That's not "showing" it.

[up] That's still better than the graffiti pic, though.

That objection is absurd. Anything can be faked.

Although "what it is" does matter, "what it looks like" is most important. It looks like a newspaper article.

Sure, for all we know, it can be something completely different from a newspaper. Red paint, for instance.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.
That's still better than the graffiti pic, though.
Why, though?

My vote is for the original.
