So many people... everywhere is filled up... Thought Susan as she lay her trunk on the floor for a moment while she took a deep breath and fixed her hair and glasses. She was unused to her new clothes... the normal child of a single muggle mother didn't get much changes to wear robes and a wizard's hat.
Still, even though her clothes were unfamiliar and everywhere was quite crowded... Susan was quite excited about the prospect of becoming a witch. Magic was real... like she had read about her entire life. And now she had a chance to learn how to use it.
With that happy thought to carry her through, Susan dragged her trunk further down the train, looking for an empty room.

Edward slowly opens the door to Hayley's compartment, enters it, then closes the door behind him, all without a sound. He walks over, and sits across from her, as quietly as possible, before speaking, "Hello, Hayley. Good to see you."

Jon shuffled his way down the train. Unlike a lot of the first-year students, he was scared. This had been his first time away from home by himself for any significant length of time, and he wasn't looking forward to it. They'd seen him off at Platform Nine, before he'd run headlong into what he thought was a brick wall.
The platform on the other side had been impressive enough; if only because there was no way to have fitted the whole thing in between Nine and Ten.
So here he was as the train thundered north, wondering how long it was going to be before he just sat down in a corner and cried.

Edward shakes his head, "No, he hasn't. He's was away on a trip meeting up with some clients in China all week."

Edward grimaces slightly, Ugh... So many questions about my father... I should change the subject. He sighs, "Of course I do... Also, I did want to remind you not to tell anyone about our little secret."

Edward inclines his head slightly in a half nod, "Thank you, Hayley. It's good to know I can trust you."

"Very true, " Edward sighs before continuing, "It's unfortunate that not all of our classmates would agree with that sentiment."

Edward chuckles slightly, "Yes, fitting Jethro Tull's output would be pretty hard, even on it's own. How about some of The Who?"

Edward barely stops himself from wincing at that comment, and says, "Yes, let's."

Vivian walked down the Hogwarts Express's corridors, her long plait swinging this way and that as she talked to the girl who walked by her. In one hand she held a trunk, and in the other a blue flower. "Oh, look at this first-year, " the girl told Vivian, "he's really scared-looking..." Vivian turned her head, and, noticing Jon, she smiled and waved. She figured that it was best for her to help the first-years... she remembered how scary it was for her. "The telegram will pass!"

Jon saw the older girl wave at him, and nearly fainted on the spot.

Vivian cringed. That boy did swoon like he was going to faint, from fear no doubt. With an apologetic nod to her friend she ran toward him. She crouched so their faces were in the same height. "Sorry I frightened you, " she said. "I'm Wetherford, Vivian Wetherford. Nice to meet you!" "The telegram will pass!"

"It... it's OK..." he mumbled.

Victory at last!
Susan was glad to find that almost at the very back of the train there was a completely unnocupied room for her to claim. Standing outside and looking both sides almost as if she expected someone to swoop in and take it any second now, the young first year student opened the door and the settled herself comfortably inside.
