After-action report for Lotte no Omocha - part 1: clear cases, the absurdly youthful father

I have re-added: Art Shift, Amusement Park (with a tiny edit), Badass Adorable, Beach Episode (the description was ok), Bokukko, High-Pressure Emotion, Humans Are Cthulu, Idiosyncratic Episode Naming, Pragmatic Adaptation, Relationship Voice Actor, Straight Gay, Wholesome Crossdresser

I left zapped: Going Commando, Vapor Wear (do we really need to know this about two 10-year-old girls?), Fridge.Anime (dead wick)

One large class of pages where I was unsure what to do dealt with the fact that Naoya fathered a child at age 12. Since this documents a sexual encounter that is, very likely, between a teen and an adult, it seems to be in violation of policy. On the other hand, mentioning that someone fathered a child is not exactly pedo-pandering to me (except maybe by inference), so I am not sure how to deal with these examples. Some randomly picked samples:

Queen Mercelida from Lotte No Omocha certainly qualifies, being a succubus queen and all. Naoya agrees, seeing as they had a one night stand that resulted in Asuha.

In Lotte no Omocha!, Naoya is surprisingly magnanimous towards Mercelida considering she left him with their daughter from their one-night stand when he was still just 15 years old himself while not even providing any financial support during all the years, resulting in him being unable to complete his education.

Touhara Naoya from Lotte No Omocha conceived Asuha with Mercelida when he was only 12. Ten years later, the two look more like brother and sister rather than father and daughterIn Lotte No Omocha, ignoring the fact that Naoya fathered Asuha as a kid, he was a pretty chaste character, until chapter 20 where he gets excited just from listening to Effie talking about her even bigger breasted older sister.

The examples in this class were on: Absurdly Youthful Mother, A Man Is Not A Virgin, Easily Forgiven, Hot Mom, Hot Dad, Law of Inverse Fertility, Not So Above It All, Weirdness Magnet

Next part: other problematic examples

After-action report for Lotte no Omocha - part 2: problematic examples

I'll split this into several classes of examples.

Examples where I did not have enough context:

- Brains and Bondage: "In Lotte no Omocha, there is Judit. She has a BDSM dungeon which she shows off to Lotte when the latter wishes to "discipline" Naoya, something she gets downright frighteningly enthused about. Amusingly, she had a giant squeaky toy hammer on the wall next to whips and crops — Guess which one Lotte picks? Becomes a minor Running Gag — Lotte is seen bapping Naoya a few times with it throughout the series."

- Humiliation Conga: "Lotte from Lotte no Omocha loves dishing out "embarrassing punishments". Coo mentions two specific ones — having to go shopping in a miniskirt without panties, and having to serve tea in a Hadaka Apron. Her favorite punishment for Naoya is to make him into a human chair while she reads manga. She also tried stealing his underwear, but discovered that it only works when someone's wearing a skirt... which Asuha suggests they should do next."

- Stripperiffic: "Lotte no Omocha has the official uniform of most female personnel (rejected by the conservative-styled Zelda) — three styles, all extremely revealing (mostly thongs and tape). It appears to be a throwaway gag, until you see the occasional side character wearing them."

Examples that might need a re-write: - Loophole Abuse: "Lotte from Lotte No Omocha is allowed to set standards for her harem. But thanks to her hatred for men, she doesn't want to have a harem, so she picked a supposedly extinct race (i.e. humans) as the only acceptable members... then came Naoya.". Proposal: Add something like "Luckily, he sees her as the child she is and treats her like a daughter".

- Audience-Alienating Premise: "The manga Lotte no Omocha is a story about a strapping young man who is tricked by elves into moving to another world, specifically so a 10-year-old succubus can have sex with him for the rest of his life. Trying to talk about it generally goes like this: "It's a heartwarming story about a man becoming a surrogate father—" "Wait. Isn't that the one with the ten-year-old succubus?" "Yeah, but—" "Ten-year-old. Succubus." Maybe tell a bit more about the plot, so that the description itself does not become reader alienating?

- Take a Third Option: "In Lotte no Omocha, Naoya was given one by Lotte and Zelda, head of the guard. Lotte ordered Naoya to sleep with her, then ordered Zelda to kill him if he did anything (reducing it to a "scare the pants off of him" after getting to know him better). He takes a third option upon learning from Olaf of her past." Maybe we can even leave this as is...

Problematic due to Too Much Information, up for grabs if anyone wants to salvage this:

- Magic Skirt: "Lotte no Omocha makes use of this quite often thanks to Asuha frequently discarding her panties. This happens with a few other characters Going Commando as well, but mostly just Asuha."

- Bring My Brown Pants: "Occurs in episode 7 of Lotte No Omocha!. The titular character goes into a haunted house attraction to prove how grown up she is, after being shown eating an ice cream cone and sipping a drink. Inside, she gets scared silly, causing her to wet herself. She emerges with damp legs and teary eyes, though the former detail is only present in the manga. Luckily for her, her escort has a pair of panties handy at all times."

Special mention:

- Bleached Underpants: "In the case for Yui Haga, he/she is an h-game artist releasing an ongoing, very ecchi manga called Lotte no Omocha." Considering that even the Bleached Underpants anime version failed to pass the P5, I suppose that this person's H-Games would quickly end up on the "Kill It with Fire" list here. What should we do with this one? Keep? Drop?

Judit? In her mid twenties.

How does that scene play out? If it's plainly played for laughs with no (Lotte-centered) fanservice, I'll restore that one.

Got pointed here after I started zapping examples- I'd been under the impression that all the wicks had to go. And now I'm still confused, because unless they were simply un-wikiworded, quite a few of the examples that were supposedly restored weren't on the "related to" for Kn J. I'll go restore the definitely unproblematic examples I nuked for now, but have we figured out what we're actually doing?

See here for the policy discussion. Fighteer told me he would try to draw up a policy statement here.

Bumping this. Considering that we now keep unproblematic examples and we have a thread for general lewdness cleanup, we can close this one.
