I'm sorry, but is this a joke? Who in their right mind would consider the couple in the current image to be elderly?

I rather like the top half of this◊ image from The Golden Girls (This◊ was my first choice, but unfortunately, it was the biggest one I could find).

Well, they're sort of Hollywood Elderly... The image is also rather high quality.

However, I prefer the suggestion.

I can tell that Adama and Ross are older, but the top half of the OP suggestion is better at actually showing the trope.

They might be older, but not OLD. This trope seems to suggest white haired, wrinkled people and these people look like they're in their 50s, at most (the woman could pass for being in her 40s).

I think it's supposed to refer to characters who fell in love at an older age. However, at the risk of igniting JAFAAC or "Does Not Illustrate" arguments, I think that showing the elderly couple without any context that they fell in love later in life would probably be OK.

I know I'm being pushy, but the couple in the current image doesn't even look old enough to get the senior discount at Hometown Buffet!
