I... can't tell what's going on in that image. Even with the caption, it's still pretty unclear. Surely there's a better image somewhere out there?

Perhaps Mind Rot?

I like Mind Rot a good bit. I'll see if there aren't other MtG cards that might fit better.

I also like the flavor text on Inquisition of Kozilek a good bit for the caption:

"You will scream out your innermost secrets just to make it stop"

Another couple of options: Pulse of the Dross, Smallpox, Three Tragedies

The second and third panels on the current image are not necessary at all and neither is that caption. I'd say either just the first panel or Mind Rot would be a good replacement.

I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!

Re: the current image, I think the second panel would make a better standalone. The first panel is clearly a psychic attack of some sort, but what sort isn't so clear.

I don't like Mind Rot, it just looks like a beam attack on a head.

Mind Rape magic is one of Black's staples in Magic, and is represented on a ridiculous number of cards.

In addition to the ones already mentioned, here's a list of some ones that looked decent on Gatherer; I'll try narrowing it down...

Cabal Therapy, Identity Crisis, Liliana's Caress, Memoricide, Mental Agony,Surging Dementia (I rather like this one)

If any of them look good, I'll see about finding larger versions.

Liliana's Caress might be good. I would like Mental Agony except they are touching, which I think is misleading: given the name touch might be an intrinsic part of this, and it's not.

I'm really liking Surging Dementia myself.

Inquisition of Kozilek's art isn't too shabby either.

Meh, Dementia and Inquisition look like any old head-grab attack.

I'm not sure how the name indicates that touch is necessary; "mental agony" pretty much means "pain of the mind". The main problem I see with it is that the shiny effects between the two are kind of small, so people might not see them.

My point was that touch is not necessary. The name Mind Rape makes it sound like it might be, so I think a picture with touch is bad.

Magneto is a holocaust survivor. I assume the pic is about Professor X making Magneto remember it.

I can't get over how silly Magneto's face is in the third panel.[lol]

What does the third panel say that isn't redundant to the second? (Or vice versa, ignoring the goofy expression.)

That's Professor X (one of the heroes) forcing Magneto to relive his childhood memories in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. It makes sense in context.

Also the caption is wordy / terrible.

There are only two things that bother me about this picture. While it's definitly the best picture to show the trope:

1.[up] like the guy said above me, it's too wordy. Try typing someting like:"Prof. X forces Magneto to relive the Holocaust again." Granted, it's probably a bad image quote, but it at least shows that it doesn't have to be extremly wordy. After all, people don't need to know who is on which side, they can just look it up somewhere else on this wiki, like this example page.

2. Two images is fine. The third image is unnessacary and Narm with that face. We already get what's happening with two images.

Identity Crisis is my favorite one of them all. You can tell that the victim is being mentally attacked by three psychic/wizard looking guys, since they aren't touching him with their hands or attacking him with glowy magic lasers.

ID Crisis is good. I'll search and see if the WotC website has a bigger picture of it. If not, I'll crop it off the Gatherer pic.

It doesn't, but here's a 300 px version of ID Crisis:

You will scream out your innermost secrets just to make it stop.

+1 for Identity Crisis.

Let me try to get a resize real quick. I resized it down from 325 to 300 width due to the size of the picture exceeding the 200kb limit. I will try to get a different version.

[up] That one looks much better. I'm curious as to how you did it.

If it weren't clear from the above post, the cleared up ID Crisis gets a +1 from me as well. Would like to use the caption that I put in my previous image above, which is flavor text from a different MtG card, Inquisition of Kozilek.
