Are there any examples of female characters with Shonen Hair?

I see the Awesomeness.
Kaze no Stigma maybe? Are we counting Peek-a-Bangs or the one where it just covers an entire side of the face?

Not all Anime Hair is Shonen Hair. The latter has a specific definition: "their hair is always in a mess, bulges out on all sides, and often looks kind of spiky". Like this guy:

I found:

Yubel from YuGiOhX, and perhaps Mai Kujaku. Yu-Gi-Oh!, the king of Shonen Hair, really disappointed me here, pretty much all females have smooth and spikeless hair. And I'm not even certain if Yubel is really female :K

Mai's hair doesn't look messy, though. That's part of the basic requirements alongside "all-around bulging" (which Mai does have).

And Yubel appears to be officially considered of female gender, judging by her wiki profile.

Not as spiky, but Subaru has shades of it.

[up] That hairstyle is not uncommon in non-shonen work, to be honest. But speaking of Strikers, Erio's hairstyle seems to be a Downplayed example of Shonen Hair.

[up][up] Otto from that series (and on the same page) is a she and has shonen hair! Well, not clumpy, but spiky at least, and looks messy.

Wendi a bit lower also leans towards there.

Maybe if it were more bulging and/or spiky...

What about Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo!?

You need to ask? wink Definitely yes. Can't believe I didn't remember her. XP Come to think of it, wouldn't Washu's hair fit too?

[up] Well, given that you asked, I wasn't sure if you were disqualifying her for any reason. grin

I'd qualify Washu as well, since it does run in the family.

So Sonic the Hedgehog counts?

[up]For female Shonen Hair? I think, based on gender issues, no.

[up] Seconded.

[up][up]Doesn't the pink one has the same hair style, though?

Oh, for hair like Sonic?

Well, I suppose it depends, since it's supposed to be about hair that not only sticks out and is really spiky, but is also indicative of being Hot-Blooded or the like. If they have the right attitude, a hairdo like Sonic would count.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
