She's only the first. Soon(-ish), all Gundams will be self-aware!

I've got a good chunk of the next scene written up, but I'm fumbling on how to close it. Probably try and put up what I have a bit later on.

Quick question. Can someone remind me the destructive output of Wing Zero's Wave-Motion Gun in comparison to most other Gundams?

[up]Gundams such as? I mean, it was a citybuster weapon, which puts it a long way ahead of most suits. Even the ZZ Gundam's Hi-Mega Cannon, one of the most powerful guns ever mounted on a mobile suit in the Universal Century, couldn't One-Hit Kill a space colony.

[up]Answers my question well enough in itself, although the main comparisons of interest being higher-end Mobile Suits from the Cosmic Era and Anno Domini.

Basically, I'm wondering if Wing Zero basically qualifies for "most powerful Gundam in terms of pure destructive output". This does obviously not include the Turns.

[up]The 00-Raiser and 00 Qan[T] could give it a serious run for its money on that count. In fact, the Qan[T] definitely overshadows it, what with being able to cut open a Big Dumb Object roughly the size of the moon. From the Cosmic Era, the only match to the Wing Zero in firepower is the Destroy Gundam, but it's a pretty solid match, and may slightly surpass it. In the UC, the big boys are the Victory-2, the Nu Gundam, and the Unicorn. None of those have weapons with quite the same offensive output as the Wing Zero, with the possible exception of the Unicorn if Banagher were to use his suit's psyco-frame to power up the beam magnum. However, the Victory-2 has a solid defensive advantage in its Wings of Light, which could probably either shrug off a twin buster rifle blast or shut down the Zero with an EM surge before Heero has the chance to shoot, whilst the Nu and Unicorn's psyco-frames basically mean that they can tell reality to fuck off for a while, whereas the Wing Zero, despite the superhuman enhancements granted to its pilot via the Zero System, is fundamentally a conventional weapon.

In terms of demonstrated destructive output, the answer is probably yes, it does.

Clearly the sentient AI of the Gundams from Mobile Fighter G Gundam must be either the Only Sane Man in that insane universe, or national stereotypes raised Up To Eleven. Or both.

Oh, and Seravee should be a Simon expy.

Yeah, Wing Zero just simply has one of the most powerful single-piece beam weapons in the Gundam franchise.

Nitramy: Currently, Burning is the only Mobile Fighter I definitely have set in stone.

That said, I do have the urge to try and play Maxter as some kind of homage to Space Jam...

Don't know what Seravee is, because my knowledge on non-G entries of the franchise is still less than ideal, but I already have plans for TTGL references, namely with this fella:

The black Gundam, after effortlessly disabling a pair of mook Mobile Suits, pointed at the enemy officer on the field and roared, "Dig the wax out of those ears of yours and listen up, 'cos I got something important to tell ya! The reputation of the Londo Bell echoes FAR AND WIDE!"

Thumping its chest with a fist, it continued, "When people talk about their biggest badass, the terror of evildoers the galaxy over, they're talkin' about ME! ZETA GUNDAM!"

Nitramy and Rocket Dude: any comment on the AD stuff on previous page? I already got input from HB on a particular dialog problem. Anyway, Exia's characterization will become much more apparent whenever I manage to get the next part done. Actually, scratch that, I have something I can get up in an hour or less, though the humor won't come in until snippet 4.

@Eva: Well, I suppose it was suitably amusing. I guess the dialogue might be a bit odd, but that's fixable.

Also, Seravee is Tieria's Gundam in Season 2 of 00.

New snippet time! Took longer than expected because I decided that v1 just plain sucked. Here's version 2.0 for Anno Domini snippet 3.

After successfully tracking Exia, Allelujah and Setsuna found it standing outside of an attorney's office in Detroit, sitting on its legs in a very Samurai sort of way.

Rather than obstruct traffic, it was taking up space in an empty lot across from the door, and seemed to be looking at said attorney's office very intently. Exia's cockpit was currently open, and had no pilot within. Passers-by on the street stopped to stare at Exia for a few moments, but inevitably continued on with their day, their curiosity not enough to warrant further investigation.

Unfortunately, there wasn't really any way that Kyrios could be maneuvered into a suitable position to retrieve Exia without causing total and utter chaos, nor was it feasible for Setsuna to make his way to the wayward Gundam while on foot, since there wasn't any easily-doable way for him to keep his identity a secret while doing so.

Seemingly without prompt, and still visibly no one in the cockpit, Exia lifted its gaze toward the sky, observing Gundam Kyrios.

A scant second or two later, Allelujah received a communication from... Exia itself? Speaking with a female, composed-sounding voice, Exia said, "I apologize if my sudden auto-activation raised any alarms at Celestial Being, Allelujah. However, I am currently waiting for a representative of this law firm to confirm whether my request has been processed. With luck, my business here can be concluded swiftly and without incident, at which point I will return."

At that time, a disinterested-looking man in a sharp suit emerged from the law firm and stood before Exia. The mobile suit turned to face the presumed attorney, and expectantly waited for him to speak.

"Ahem. Due to your affiliation with Celestial Being, and therefore your status as an enemy combatant - not to mention your lack of affiliation with any country, which makes it exceedingly difficult to file appropriate paperwork - we are unable to grant your request for a restraining order on 'Graham Aker of the Union military'."

Exia tilted its head. "Even though I have logged over five hundred instances of sexual harassment from that crude, crude person?"

"Even considering that, we are unable to grant you a restraining order due to the aforementioned reasons. Although we are legally able to give you our deepest sympathies. Also, I really shouldn't be saying this, but the military will be here within a few minutes in order to apprehend you."

Upon hearing this news, Exia began to pout - or at least, the closest approximation of pouting that a Mobile Suit could manage - before gracefully standing and powering up her GN drive, and then taking to the skies.

"Well, that was a waste of everyone's time," Exia mused. "I should run back now. It'd be better if I didn't have to risk engaging the military in civilian airspace..."

With an unladylike snort, Exia muttered, "As if I even knew how to fight in the first place."

More characterization, and possibly even a bit of action, whenever I manage the next snippet.

Comments/remarks, please?

I get the feeling that Exia's personality is supposed to be a reference to someone, but I don't know who it is.

Gratitude to all, and also to whomever suggested the restraining order bit some few pages ago.

Hyper: Actually, no. Exia is one of the Gundams that I didn't have someone in mind to base their character off of. Although, in hindsight, I did notice that Exia seems to share a few parallels with a particular Negima character.

Also, just noticed a typo in the snippet. Gonna go ahead and fix that.

Next snippet will be released... um... whenever I can get my head out of FFXII long enough to write it, I guess? >.>

Anyway, after Exia's chapter is concluded, I'll see about trying to re-watch some Gundam Wing - or at the very least, finally get around to watching Endless Waltz - and then try to start work on either After Colony or Future Century, since those shows feature the next few Gundams I actually have a longer-than-just-one-scene idea for.

There are currently no known/intended references to the MGLN franchise.

Now if I could just come up with a title for the damn thing...

Rocket: The current Working Title is "Gundams Are Alive", which I thought of while listening to the Toonami Gundam Wing track, Gundams Are On Earth.

That was a while ago. Currently, I'm not overly fond of the working title.

Iaculus: Okay, that one had me in stitches for a couple of minutes.[lol] Not using it, but I might make a reference to it in omake somewhere down the line if the situation permits.

Onto business, then. I have a little bit more written, shedding more light on Exia's character, but... well, I'm kind of treading new ground here, and I'd like a second opinion before I try and keep building on what I've got.

Honestly, I'm not sure overly demure and ladylike works so well for Exia. It is, after all, the 'seriously, how many swords did you stick on that thing?' Gundam. Me, I'd cast it as a slightly psychotic Knight Templar, Rules Lawyer, and Principles Zealot - the sort that even the Well Intentioned Extremists of Celestial Being would be a bit uncomfortable around. I guess the thing is that generally, it's good to think about what personalities would interact particularly interestingly with their pilots, and that one seems like it could set up a bit of amusing/meaningful conflict with early-Setsuna's simplistic view of the world and view of Gundams as saviours and tools to ensure peace.
