Well it seems like the discussion is pretty evenly divided with not much room for compromise here. I'm going to go ahead and get a crowner made.
EDIT: The Crowner is a Page Action for Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped, since Anvillicious is the trope of legend. The link to hollering the mods on How Crowners Work doesn't seem to be working, can we get some help in that regard?
The three options so far are: 1) "Delete the Some Anvils Need To Be Dropped page, and delete the examples from the Anvillicious page, leaving this trope as a tag on a works YMMV page. (Suggested by Scan Visor)" 2) "Create a "mirror Darth Wiki page" listing examples of the exact opposite of Some Anvils Need To Be Dropped. Most likely to be passed through the YKTTW with the purpose of making the name for the page. (Suggested by Brent Laabs. His best idea for a name was "Some Anvils Should Have Stayed At The Smithy," but he hates it.)" 3) "Leave both pages as they stand. (Suggested by many.)"
Here's a link to the page.

I have no choice but to pretend I am a warrior who knows no fear. You sure know how to write push polls. It looks like you've learned something from that volunteer work on elections. I wrote quite a few myself back in college with my Orwellian group.
Re-hollered it to get it hooked.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanTwo hollers within minutes of each other. Must be urgent! Crownered up.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I think we should merge Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped with its example section on Sugar Wiki. Doesn't seem like there's much point in having them separated the way they are.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Yeah, if this is Anvilicious Done Well merging it into Sugar Wiki makes sense.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman@Brent Laabs I sincerely challenge you to back up your idea that what I wrote is a push poll, but if you want to do that, send me messages, I'd like this not to get derailed.
I have no choice but to pretend I am a warrior who knows no fear.I accept your challenge, and will see you in PMs.
By the way, that was intended to be a compliment
I'm sorry, the tone of that was wrong, and I got defensive at the mere mention of a push poll. KKKAAAAARRRRLLL ROOOOOVVEEE!!!! My intent is that you reveal the ways in which my poll pushes and I edit it so we have a more balanced Page Action. Thanks.
I have no choice but to pretend I am a warrior who knows no fear.I'm okay with leaving the page on Main instead of Sugar Wiki, but it better not come back into TRS with people calling for an example sectionectomy later on.
Calling crowner.
Merge Anvils That Needed to Be Dropped into Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped and keep on Main.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.So move the gushing examples from Sugar Wiki to main? Which has nothing to do with the issue that this thread brought up?
Maybe we should have talked this over more...
There was an option to merge Anvilicious with this one, so it wasn't absent from the crowner. Yes, I agree it was a strange decision.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI don't think people understood all of the choices. The option to merge the two pages onto a page in Main received +10. The option to merge them onto a page in Sugar Wiki received +2. So the option that suggested merging without specifying the destination namespace should have gotten at least +10, right? No - it got -4!
In that case, because we didn't specify the namespace and they didn't want to be confused?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThat's true.
OK, I am executing the current crowner's decision, but we'll then discuss if there is a reason to merge it with Anvilicious, since this was apparently the original issue.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI gotta say I'm surprised by the results. Also, frankly, it doesn't resolve the issue at all. That said, whatever the tropers decide, I respect that decision. That said, I'm voting down this crowner.

I have no choice but to pretend I am a warrior who knows no fear.Voted this up, then. We absolutely do not need either a crowner being derailed by a sideoption or an excuse to have a Done Well/Done Badly split.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAnvilicious is a general trope for all examples of anvilicious things. Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped is a more specific trope mostly just for gushing. If we decided to merge them, we couldn't keep anything from Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped without having an example section that reads like a schizophrenic wrote it.

Again I present the fact that SOME ANVILS IS NOT A TROPE. IT DOES NOT DESERVE TO EXIST, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ANVILLISM IS DONE WELL OR NOT.
I'm sorry that was in Caps, but we are clearly violating our own rules people.

I have no choice but to pretend I am a warrior who knows no fear.Oh yeah!! Well Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!! And I'm beautiful too!
"Anvils" (=anvilicious aesops) ARE tropes, usually - you don't just causally drop an "anvil" on top of the reader.
It's the distinction that bothers me. This seems to be Heavy-Handed Aesop Done Well, whereas Anvilicious seems to combine Heavy-Handed Aesop with Heavy-Handed Aesop Done Badly.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
That's also really bad. If I couldn't get my original plan, certainly it'd be fine to turn Anvillicious into a Darth Wiki page. I mean, seriously, read it, it's definitely got the feel of a Darth Wiki page, and it almost certainly has Complaining About Shows You Don't Watch.

Crown Description:
Some Anvils Need To Be Dropped clearly violates the standards set by the The Same But More, the Tropes Are Not Bad, and the Your Mileagemay Vary pages that "A trope done well is not a trope." Herein are some suggestions for creating balance in regards to it's relationship to the original Anvillicious page.
I don't think Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped is supposed to be 'Anvilicious, but okay'. It's more like 'Anvilicious, but not careless and thus capable of the intended emotional impact'. If you have a show with an anvilicious message about how Drugs Are Bad or murder is wrong, it's not automatically tagged Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped and given a free pass because it's a good message. The second paragraph of Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped seems to indicate that it often comes up in relation to Aesops that, in the time and place the work was produced, really needed to be dropped.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!
