The scene where Lady Kaede is killed is one of my favorite, in part because of how great it looks.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

No, because I'd already watched it. It means "rebellion" & such, by the way.

My English class purposefully watched this movie after reading King Lear. To call their similarities "intentional" is kind of understating it; it follows Lear's plot so closely it might as well be a Foreign Remake.
But that's not to say it's bad. There are enough differences to make it stand on its own 2 feet, and in my opinion it really is deserving of the acclaim it has.

Okay, admit it! You thought Ran meant running. Nope, it's nothing like that. Instead, it's a Japanese film that has to do with revolts, confusion and disturbances!
I got to see this film on the satellite at least once. Now that's a film that is not afraid to go into Tragedy! I admit I'm a little surprised that the film was inspired by King Lear. Then again, before I found that out, I had thought that it was on the level of Shakespearean tragedy. Clearly, that was intentional!
Oh, yeah, and let me just say that Lady Kaede is such a heartless monster that I'm glad she didn't pull a Karma Houdini!
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!
