A friend of mine invited me to see this at the late, lamented UC Cinema in Berkeley, CA. He wound up apologizing profusely after the completion of the film. I didn’t dislike the film like he did but my God, what a bleak and oppressive film!

Woman In The Dunes sounds like an intriguing film. I mean, how many films can you think of that has a guy trapped in a sand pit with a woman and both of them have to keep digging at the sand?
I don't blame Jumpei for trying to run for it. Does the idea of digging sand every day sound appealing to you?
